Contracts with Engraving Concern for Long Horn Cuts Is Signed. • This week Mr. Fisk Wright, man ager of the ’ll Long Horn, signed the contract with -Mr. N. E. Schwarz, rep resenting the Electric City Engraving- Company of Buffalo, N. Y., for the cuts and engravings for this year’s annual. This concern handled the engravings for one or two previous class annuals and did excellent work. This company makes cuts and engravings almost ex clusively for college publications, and is well equipped to take care of such contracts. In fact, it is considered the most exclusive college annua] house in the country. Mr. Fosgard, the editor, is progress ing very nicely with his editorial work, and will have the copy for the various college departments in the printer’s hands before Christmas. The photographs for this class book are being taken and most of them wi 1 ! be sent to the engravers when the copy goes to the printer. The T1 Long Horn promises to be a humdinger, having numerous new fea tures. Prof. John C. Burns, of the animal husbandry department, left Monday for Chicago, accompanied by Messrs. C. M. Henderson, S. H.' Ray, R. R. Montemayor, C. C. Morris and H. P. I Brown, senior agriculturists who con- | stitute the stock judging team that will • represent this institution in the students’ stock judging contest at the International Stock Show, which will be held at the Chicago stock yards Saturday, November 26. On their way to the show the party will visit sev eral of the large Northern farms. After reaching Chicago the students will spend a day inspecting nearby farms. Such trips as this add much to the knowledge of the bug hunters, giving them information that they would not get in their class rooms. Too many students here fail to grasp the signifi cance of these trips, and it is really lamentable that more of them do not try for such contests as are offered by the International Stock Show.
