First down—Brown tried center, with
no gain. Second down—Moore went
the remaining two yards, and over,
scoring a touchdown two yards from
the west side of the field.
Score: A. & M. 9, Varsity 8. Time
•of play, 9 minutes.
Kirkpatrick kicked out, but Spoonts
failed to make a fair catch, losing a
try at goal.
Russell of the University replaced
Spoonts. Brown takes fullback and
Russell left half.
Barnes of A. & M. kicked the hall
over the Texas goal line. The Uni
versity put the ball in play on their
twenty-five yard line. First down—
Russell went five yards around, left
end. Second down—Kirkpatrick punt
ed fifty yards to A. & M.’s thirty-five
yard line. A. & M. returned the ball
five yards, but was penalized for hold
ing fifteen yards.
Whyte kicked fifty yards to Univer
sity’s forty-yard line. First down—
Russell went eight yards around left
end. Varsity was penalized five yards
for offside. Second down—Kirkpatrick
punted thirty-three yards to A. & M.’s
thirty-five yard line. Kearns of A. &
M. caught the ball, but made no gain.
First down—Barnes tried right tackle
for no gain. Second down—Barnes
tried center, with no gain. Third
down—White kicked to Kirkpatrick
thirty-two yards, placing the ball on
Varsity’s forty-three yard line.
First down—Moore tried right end,
with no gain. Second down—Russell
tried center, but lost two yards. Third
down—Kirkpatrick punted forty-two
yards to A. & M.’s thirty-seven yard
line.
McDowell secured the ball for A. &
M. First down—Whyte kicked to
Kirkpatrick on Varsity’s forty-yard
line. Varsity was penalized fifteen
yai-ds. Kirkpatrick kicked to the A. &
M. forty-yard line. Ball brought back
to Varsity’s thirty-yard line.
Dwyer relieved Kearns for A. & M.
at .quarter.
Texas, first down—A. & M. five yards
offside. Kirkpatrick kicked twenty
yards. A. & M. secured the ball. First
down—Dwyer fumbled, but Bell of A.
& M. recovered. Time of half up.
THIRD QUARTER.
A. & M. took the north end. Bate
man and Kearns returned to the A. &
M. lineup and Spoonts and Massingail
to Varsity.
Moore of the University kicked to
A. & M.’s twenty-yard line. The ball
Kearns went around left for three
yards. Third—Whyte kicked to Mas
singail on the Texas forty ; yard line.
No return.
First down—Massingail went
through left tackle for four yards.
Second—Massingail tried left end for
no gain. Third—Kirkpatrick kicked
thirty yards. Kearns recovered the
ball for A. & M. and returned two
yards.
First down—Bateman tried left end
for no gain. Second—Whyte kicked to
Kirkpatrick, who returned the ball
twenty yards to A. & M.’s forty-five
yard line.
First down—Massingail went
through left end for one yard. Sec
ond—Spoonts made a forward pass to
Woodhull. Bateman of A. & M. se
cured the ball on A. & M.’s thirty-four
yard line.
First down—Bateman went through
Varsity’s center for fifteen yards.
First down—Kearns went through
center for three yards. Second^—Bell
lost two yards on end run. Third—
Whyte punted to Moore, who received
the ball on Varsity’s forty-yard line.
First down—Kirkpatrick on a fake
made ten yards. First down—Kirk
patrick on a forward pass to Wood-
hall made forty yards. First down—
Massingail went five yards through
center. Second—Massingail went
through center again, this time for ten
yards. First down—Moore tried right
end with no gain. Second—Massingail
made two yards through the line.
Third—Kirkpatrick tried a forward
pass to Spoonts. Whyte of A. & M.
blocked it on A. & M.’s ten-yard line
and returned ball five yards.
First down—Barnes tried right
tackle for no gain. Second—Barnes
went two yards through right tackle.
Third—Whyte kicked. The ball was
going out of bounds, but Massingail of
the University touched it and Altgelt
of A. & M. recvered it on A. & M.’s
forty-eight yard line. First down—
Free-for-all fumble. A. & M. recov
ered. Second—Kearns made five yards
through left tackle. Third—Whyte
kicked to Kirkpatrick, who received
the ball on Varsity’s thirty-yard line.
Altgelt tackled him as he secured the
ball.
First down—Kirkpatrick went
through left end for seven yards. Sec
ond—He tried the same, with no gain.
Third'—Kirkpatrick punted to Kearns
on A. & M.’s thirty-yard line. First
down—Flinchum went three yards
through right tackle. Second—Flinch-
was returned twelve yards. First um repeated for six yards. Third
down—Bateman tried left end, with
no gain. Second down—Whyte kicked
to Varsity’s forty-five yard line to
Massingail. Kirkpatrick kicked to
Kearns on A. & M.’s twenty-yard line.
The ball was returned to the thirty-
three yard line.
First down—Bateman went two
yards around right end. Second—
Whyte kicked over Massingail and
Kirkpatrick, the ball rolling to Var
sity’s ten-yard line. Massingail re
turned it to Varsity’s thirty-yardi line.
Kirkpatrick kicked a long punt, the
ball stopping on A. & M.’s sixteen-
yard line.
First down—Barnes tried left tackle
