THE BATTALION 17 is the slaughter house of all country products—the cities must be, for the nation needs them, but the cry of the city is ever for more honest, straight forward country boys with talent, to neutralize the other producing ele ment whose natures have become cal loused by the conventionalities of arti ficial life. With the advent of modern conveni ences of the country home—life there has become ideal, and the nation need no longer fear the calamity that all the men of brains will go to the city and leave the country unproductive and famine in the land. Words worth spoke words of salvation to any nation when he said— “Come forth into the light of things, And let nature be your teacher.” Commencement. (Continued from page 1.)
