"We are heartily ia favor of cheer
ing and “(scientific" yelling. We
believe our > ells are all right as a
rule, whild our yellers after a little
more training cannot be surpassed.
But sonic of our yells will bear
cr: tic ism These make use of
words sometimes termed “pto-
ifiatke.’’ While not bad, such yells
are certainly vulgar, and are not
fit lot use by gentlemen. They
have been adopted thoughtlessly,
however. And we blame no one for
their introduction 4nt© the College.
We. suggest that the yell leaders
simply cease drilling their men on
these yells, which will be quite
enough.
