After Guard Mounting at eight o’clock, a. m., a very pretty exhibition drill was given by the Houston Rifles. An Individual Competitive drill followed the exhibition drill. The medal was won by W. B. Wortham Jr. The graduating exercises began at 10:30 with a prayer by the Chaplain of the college, Dr. T. C. Bittle. The commencement orator was Hon. T. H. Ball. Gov. Lanham introduced Mr. Ball in a very appropriate speech. Congressman Ball’s address was up to his usual standard, and was well received by the audience. At the close of Mr. Ball’s address, a very fine valedict ory address was delivered by Mr. T. W. Blake of Dallas. President Houston then read off the list of honor men in the several departments.
