THE BATTALION. 13 point of excellency. This was followed by a talk to Seniors. It was not a flowery speech, but full of hard common sense and good advice. At 4:30 o’clock drill call was sounded for the Battalion Drill and Sham Battle. The drill proved to every one that the corps were better drilled than they had been for years. The Sham Battle came immediately after the drill, company “A” was in ambush among the trees and bushes in the southern part of the campus. “B” and “C” companies were the attacking forces, while company “D” was held in reserve. Gun powder was used freely. When the din of the rifle was hushed and the smoke of battle had cleared away the combined forces of “B,” “0” and “D” companies’ were in possession of the enemies’ stronghold. Dress Parade followed and as the band played “The Star Spangled Banner,” “Old Glory” was pulled down for the day. The Annual Reunion of the Alumni was held at eight o’clock. The alumni address was made by Mr. B. C. Pittuck in which he appealed to the members to uphold the name of their dear Alma Mater. His address impressed every one with its eloquence and earnestness. This was followed by a business meeting. The following officers were elected: B. C. Pittuck, president; R. S. Tilson, vice-president; J. S. Sleeper, vice-president; W. T. Carter, vice-president; Tom Griffith, vice-president; George McCormick, vice-president;
