THE BATTALION.
A is for Altgelt, as short as you please;
He says he admires the brave Japanese.
B comes next and it stands for Bauer;
In the Dutchman’s club he shines as a flower.
B also stands for our little Bernay.
He has enough grit to be a man some day.
B stands for Benjamin, our mighty left guard.
He plays a fine game and never gets tired.
B comes again, this time for Blake.
Of honors this year a few he did take.
B now is for Burns, who plays in the band.
He holds down the flute. O ! I say, it is grand.
C stands for our postmaster, James W. Carter.
Few men are as handsome but, of course some are
smarter.
C stands for Cochran, the next on the list.
He says he’s sixteen and never been kissed.
C is for Clonts, a great man is he,
He edits the “Bat” at the A. & M.. C.
C stands for Cooas, our fine ladies’ man.
At all social stunts he does what he can.
C also stands for our bug hunter, Conner.
When he graduates here he will do the school honor.
D is for Dalime, the man with white hair;
Not white from age, but from toil and from care.
