THE BATTALION. 5 , E. J. Kyle Professor Horticultural Department A. & M. College of Texas. of Science in Agriculture in June, 1902)3 During his college courses Mr. Kyle was wise enough to lay a broad foundation. Mr. Kyle is a young man of fine appear ance, of strong physique, of agreeable manners, of great energy and tact. He was selected for his special fitness and upon the indorsements of the greatest authorities on horticulture. Prof. L. H. Bailey, both in private conversation and in written com munication, vigorously asserted to the president of the college that he knew of no available horticulturist in this country who was better fitted to take up the work at the college than Mr. Kyle. He added that he would be very much disappointed if he did not justify the highest expectations of his friends, his teachers and the governing authorities. C. S. POTTS. Among the improvements to be noted in the College this year is the beginning that has been made toward establishing and equipping a new department, the depart- * ment of Economics. An instructorship in economics and history has been created and Mr. Charles S. Potts was chosen by the Board to fill the place. Mr. . Potts was born at Weatherford, Texas, September 22, 1872.
