HE AUSTIN SOCIETY lias
greatly improved since Christ
mas. In fact, I believe it is better now
than it Has been either this session or
the preceding one.
At the close of the winter term’s
work the society elected the following
officers for the spring term; To be
President, Winkler; Vice-President,
Walden, Rec. Sec., Carpenter, M.; Cor.
Sec., Gleason; Treasurer Bryan W. I.;
Critic, Carter; Sergt. at Arms, Taylor,
Li.
We firmly believe that under the
able management of President Wink
ler the society work will he pushed
rapidly onward and upward. And with
Sec. Carpenter as Chairman of the Pro
gramme Committee that the society
will not he in need of programmes.
I wish to request every member to
take the responsibility upon them
selves to push forward the interest of
society work and not leave the presi
dent to bear the whole burden. The
necessity for society work is plainly
seen and acknowledged by those gradu
ates that failed t© take part in society
work.
What is the good of an education
when we are not able to impart it to
others ?
What is the benefit of a good opin
ion when it cannot be expressed?
