H T A MEETING in the Assembly-
Hall on the night of Feb. 3rd,
1900, the Athletic Association was or
ganized and the following officers
elected: R. C. Burleson, President;
Walter Armstrong, Vice-President; R.
M. Brown, Recording Secretary; J. A.
Baiker, Corresponding Secretary and
Treasurer and Property Man. Execu
tive Committee: Col. L. L. Foster,
Prof. Chas. Puryear, Faculty mem
bers; Dr Allen Kyle, Marion F. Law,
Alumni members; W. Chaesky, T. J.
Pinson, E. L. Oliphant, Student mem
bers.
The following constitution and by
laws are published for the advantage
of those who are not already familiar
with them:
CONSTITUTION.
Article 1. The name of this Asso
ciation shall be the Athletic Associa
tion of the Agricultural and Mechan
ical College of Texas.
Art. 2. Its object shall be the promo
tion of Athletics in the College.
Art. 3.
Sec. 1. The officers of the Associa
tion shall be a President, Vice-Presi
dent, Recording Secretary, Correspond
ing Secretary and Treasurer and a
Property Man.
Sec 2. The Property Man shall have
charge of all property of the Associa
tion, subject to' the provisions ofArt.
6, Sec. 3, and shall, when requested to
do so by the Executive Committee,
furnish the Treasurer with an invent
ory of property on hand.
Sec. 3. The duties of the other of
ficers shall be those usually pertaining
to those offices.
Sec. 4.These officers shall hold office
for one year, or until their successors
shall have been elected.
Art. 4. Membership in the Associa
tion shall be open to all members ot
the College, Alumni and ex-Cadets.
Art., 5.
Sec. 1. There shall be an Executive
Committee of seven, elected annually
by the Association, who shall have
charge of the affairs of the Associa
tion.
Sc. 2. This Committee shall consist
of three students of the College, two
non-resident Alumni and two members
of the Faculty or Corps of Instructors.
Sec. 3. It shall be their duty to ap
portion the funds of the Association,
provided for in Art. 6, and to pass up
on the schedules and contracts made
by their Managers, and to act for the
Association in all matters not decided
by the Association itself.
Art. 6.
Sec. 1. Clubs may be formed with
in the Association in the interest of
any department of Athletics, such as
Football, Tennis, Baseball, Gymnastics
and Track Athletics.
Sec. 2. The Association shall elect for
each club a Manager, who shall have
charge of the business matters of the
club The Manager shall arrange all
