THE BATTALION. 17 a nice time on the gridiron as they wished they resolved on other means. They insisted strongly on our remain ing over until the next morning, and after working our manager, Prof. Puryear, he at last succeeded in hav ing our tickets extended, and we re mained. By a special invitation we all pro ceeded to the University at 8 o'clock, where the students of that splendid institution entertained us most royally for two hours. Besides meeting all the young ladies, some of whom we already knew, we had the great pleas ure of meeting Baylor’s new president Dr. Cooper, and Mrs. Cooper, also Prof, and Mrs. Gray, and other members of Baylor’s faculty. But the time passed entirely too fast; hours seemed lige minutes, and it appeared only a short time before the clock struck eleven, and it was time to depart. Many a boy hated to leave those walls, or, more truthfully, those accomplished young ladies; but we all succeeded in get ting away, all claiming to have had a fine time. The foot-ball boys wish to express to the Baylor students their appreciation of their hospitality, and to assure them that whenever they visit the A. & M. College our keys will be thrown away, and everybody will turn out to give them a pleasant time, and thus partly repay the enjoyable reception they tendered our foot-ball team.
