It would make the hearts of his
old associates thrill with pleasure
to hear him deliver the baccalau
reate sermon within the walls of
his alma mater.

J. Allen Kyle is practicing med
icine in Houston, and the very
large practice he holds is strong-
evidence of his popularity and
worth. Dr. Kyle is a busy man,
but he can always find time to be
hospitable and attentive to every
old A. and M. boy who lands in
Houston. There should be more
like him.

E. G. Abbott, ’94, is a first
lieutenant of U. S. Volunteers,
and is at present in the Philip
pines.
■ ■
R. L. Dinwiddie, ’95, is prac
ticing medicine in San Antonio.
Dr. Dinwiddie had rare advan
tages in the East and graduated
at Bellevue before locating in
Texas.

W. H. Whisenant, ’99, is study
ing pharmacy at the Illinois State
College.

The writer had the good for
tune to be in Houston on the oc
casion of the College-Sewanee
football game. There was lots of
good rooting done, but the most
enthusiastic crowd of rooters was
composed of Ed. Hutchinson,
Geo. McCormick, General Waties
(who had a son at the A. and
M.), Bob Astin, Bob Howell and
Cal. Harrison. Evidence still
exists that these gentlemen made
Sewanee play the game of their
lives to win. Astin thinks yet
there was a mistake.

H. T. Coulter, ’95, graduated
at Bellevue and is now practicing
his profession at Rockdale.

M. Lewis, ’99, and S. E.
Barnes, ’99, have both gone to
attend University of Wisconsin.

E. J. Lyle, ’99, entered junior
class, Cornell University.

I. A. Cottingham,’86, chief; J.
R. Holman. ’95, transitman; E.
L. Martin, ,99, and Chas. Evans,
’99, are in the same party run
ning a line for a railway between
Rockland and Cedar.

C. C. Todd, ’97, U. S. A., has
been promoted to first lieutenan
cy and is now stationed at Fort
Sam Houston. Miller Todd, ’94,
is a government engineer and is
stationed in Mississippi.

H. P. Jordan, ’95, of Waco,
was elected major of the 3d Bat
talion, 2d Regiment, T. V. G.
Geo. McCormick, ’92, of Hous
ton, was elected lieutenant-colonel
of the 1st Regiment.

Reese Fowler, ’94, is a captain
of volunteers, having served
through the Spanish war with
distinction;
