Teacher—Express in a few words this sentence: “Mr.
and Mrs. Flood drove up to the door of the house and
stopped. Mr. Flood threw down the reins and helped his
wife to alight. Then they entered the house.”
Smart boy—The rains descended and the Floods came.
—Exchange.
“Johnny, what teacher are you under most?”
“They all sit on me when they get a chance.”—Ex.
Brown—Oh, yes, the world moves!
Jones—Yes, it has to hustle to keep up with U. S.
—Exchange.
Doctor—(just arrived) “What on earth are you holding
his nose for?”
Pat—(kneeling beside the victim) “So his breath
won’t leave his body, of course.”
Changeless.
Long years have fled since last we met,
The old has passed the new—
Old friends have gone, new faces come —
But I’ve not changed for you.
My hair has lost its glossy gold,
My eyes are faded blue,
The rose has sought anoth’ser cheek—
But have I changed to you?
