Mr. and Mrs. Coulter, of Texarkana, were out with
their son Robert, Field Day.
Miss Moore, of Baylor, is visiting- her brother, Cadet
Moore.
ATMLETICS.
Our First Annual Field Day.
The first Field Day in the history of this colleg-e took
place on April 21st. We had been looking- forward to this
day for the last two months, during- which time Prof. A.
M. Soule and some of the cadets were never idle in ar-
rang-ing- the program and inducing- the students to take
part and interest in such line of sport.
One great drawback was the manner in which some
of the students and classes opposed the rivalry and class
spirit which would necessarily arise during- the contests;
or perhaps they thoug-ht the Field Day would fall throug-h
and considered it too much trouble, combined with laziness
and less college spirit, to help make same a success. Al
though the management had all these troubles to face, in
the end they were all drowned and erased, and the victors
have an event to point to which will mark an epoch in the
history of athletics here at college. Just a few days be-
