up along- its various ramifications, the men in the dain-
department can state accurately the amount of milk that
food will produce when fed to the cow. This may appear
somewhat exaggerated to the practical farmer, but it is
true nevertheless, and it all g-oes to show that farming-
may be made a science and a fine art instead of a mere
experiment with the chances ag-ainst successful results.
