On the morning of the 21st of April, at an early hour, the corps of cadets boarded the special that had been kindly provided for their accommodation, for the city of Houston, to take part in the exercises that had been arranged to com memorate the deeds of the heroes of San Jacinto. The trip down was without incident. Wnen the city was reached a committee of soldierly and princely gentlemen met us at the depot and had the corps marched to the nearest hotel where refreshments were served, which seemed to be the starting signal for one continual round of generous and
