THE BATTALION. 21 -should not succeed hs beyond the comprehension of the -editor, for he has too much confidence in the generous hos pitality of Austin college to believe for a moment that she will allow to slip by such an opp >rtuniiy of bringing the students of the two institutions together on so amicable terms. We have not forgotten, my friends of the A. C. how well you treated us in December, and we are exceedingly anxious to pay you another visit. Nothing would seem more natural than for a Texas boy to wish to participate in the festivities given in honor of the he roes of San Jacinto. We are proud of our Battalion and we are proud of the gray which we wear and loyal to our state* We only want an opportunity to show our allegiance both to our school and orr state. But if it is an impossibility for the â– corps as a body to attend the exercises at least let us make a streneous effort to have' die Ross Volunteers be present. We claim that as a. military organization the Ross Volunteers are inferior to no volunteer company in the Mate and we are pining for a chance to prove it. Brigance, Dean and Pfeuffer, chaperoned by our resident Director, Hon. W. R. Cavitt.
