24 THE BATTALION. no member shall be entitled to hold an office in the Fraternity until he shall have taken the second degree. Art. 5. In addition to the above there shall be an honorary membership kno-wn as the ‘‘Veterans.” The membership in this shall be limited to twenty-five and shall never exceed that number. To this, only such ex-cadets as have attained promi nence through their own efforts and are entitled to recognition by their fellow members, shall be eligible, and no one shall be eligible until he has been away from college five years or more. Members may be nominated for this honor only at annual meet ings and to be elected shall receive the votes of three-fourths of the members present, and there shall be not more than five persons elected to this honor in any one meeting. SECTION m. Article 1. The business meetings of the Fraternity and its transactions shall be secret. Art. 2. The ceremonies of initiation of members, etc., shall be prescribed by the committee on work at the meeting wherein this constitution is adopted and shall be secret. SECTION IV. 1 2 3 4 5 Art. 1. The officers of this Commander. Vice Commander. Officer of the Day. Adjutant. Quartermaster. fraternity shall be as follows: 6 Color Bearer. 7 Sergeant of Guard. 8 Corporal of Guard. 9 Commissary. 10 Sentinel. Art. 2. The first six named above shall be elected at the annual meeting of the Fraternity to serve one year, or until their successors shall have qualified. The remaining four of ficers shall be appointed by the commander to serve during his term of office. Art. 3. The duties of the officers shall be as follows: The commander shall be the chief executive officer of the Fraternity. He shall preside at all meetings, and appoint committees. He shall have authority to call special meetings of the Fraternity, to temporarily suspend any officer for cause pending action by the Campus Council. He shall appoint a suitable person to fill any office vacated by death or resignation, and to tempor arily fill any office vacant by reason of absence of regular officer
