With this efficient staff of officers, it is hoped and expected that much good work for the Association will be accomplish ed. It will be pushed forward in an aggressive manner and the aid of all who are interested is solicited. On Sunday evening, June 7th, Dr. B. D. Cockrell, presi dent of the Trinity University, delivered a most eelilying ser mon to the members of the Young Men’s Christian Associa tion ond visitors. The sermon was highly appreciated by all present. The Association for the session of 1896-97 will be officer ed by President C. C. Tood; vice-president, J. (x. Kerr; re cording secretary, G. L. Sneed ; corresponding secretary, H. E. Rawlins; treasurer, C. A. Johnson. With this issue of the Battalion the present editorial staff steps out of office and gives place to those who are to look after the subscription list and control the sway of that might} 7 weapon, the pen, for the coming year, some of them to resign forever their connection with the Battalion. We hope their success in life may be pushed forward and upward by the same sturdy efforts that has made the Battalion what it has been this year. We hope that, with the present com mencement edition and the regular issue during the whole scholastic year, the footing of the Journal has so been increas ed as to make the task somewhat easier to those who follow. Our paper has commanded no littje attention among the nu merous exchanges and from this alone we may gather much encouragement and strength for future efforts. Commencement has come and gone and once more we wend our way to our homes conscious of having learned many lessons, and of the need of a vacation. The gay, laughing
