Lt. Col. B. E. Nowotny with
Hqrs. of the European Div., Air
Transport Command, will go to
Germany in December for duty.
He is now stationed in Paris and
plans the transfer of the adminis-
tration offices to Wiesbaden, Ger-
many. Before entering service,
Col. Nowotny coached athletics at
New Branfels, and later became
associated with the USDA at Col-
lege Station. Mrs. Nowotny and
their daughter are making their
home at College Station but plan
to join the Colonel in Germany this

some good “bull” sessions with
Walter A. Evans who is working
for the same refinery. Also liv-
ing in Casper is Carl Moulden, who
is in business for himself.

Richard H. “Bear” Wright re-
ports that he and his family are
all getting along fine in the thin
air of the Andes and that ranching
is quite interesting. He reports

Sasse, ’33 and Jack Farmer, ’32
recently in his part of the world.
“Bear” reports that outside of the
baby looking like Papa, she is do-
ing fine. Their other daughter’s

New Orleans to Houston and is

service in September 1945 and has

Raymond F. Bean was a recent
campus visitor for his first return
since graduation. He and Mrs.
Bean and their young daughter

Raymond is with Baker Bros, Nur-
sery of that city. He was released
from active duty in the fall of
1945 after extensive service, eigh-
teen months of which was spent
in the Pacific.
Warren E. Church is on termi-
nal leave with the rank of Major.
He is entering the real estate and
insurance business at Corsicana,
under the firm name of “Your Ex-

William A. Cozart is in the gen-
eral insurance business. He suf-
fered a leg and foot wound in Ger-
many in 1944 but is in good health

Lt. Gilbert C. Holick, ’39, was
presented the Distinguished Fly-
ing Cross by A.&M. President Gibb
Gilchrist at a special review of the
Cadet Corps in November. Lt.
Holick’s citation was for out-
standing service as lead navigator
in overcoming adverde weather
conditions to lead bomber forma-
tions to successful bombing targets
over enemy occupied territory in
Germany. He was in the Air
Force over three years and holds
in addition to the DFC, the Air
Medal with four clusters, the ETO
ribbon with four campaign stars,
the Victory Medal and the Amer-
ican theater ribbon,
Lt. Holick is a son of J. F. Hol-
ick, long-time resident of the Col-
lege Station community and broth-
er of Ed Holick, ’15, College Sta-
tion. Out of service now, Lt. Hol-
ick, his wife and young son reside
at 305 Francis St., College Sta-
tion.

in Dallas County and for the past
two years served as a community

discharge from the army in Aug-

YMCA at Flushing, New York.
Mr. and Mrs. H, K. Jackson and

Oak Ridge, Tenn. Kirk completed
his work recently at MIT and has
accepted work in chemical engin-
eering at Oak Ridge Mrs. Jack-
son wil be remembered as Miss
Glenn Rose Jamison, of Bryan,
where she made her home before
her marriage. :
C. J. Porterfield is engaged in
farming and also is County Com-
missioner of Precinct 3, Brazos
County. He makes his home at
Bryan, Texas.
L. L. Jacobs is farming and
raising stock in Dallas County.
He has been in this business since
he left school, with the exception
of the time he spent in the army.
He has also served as a communi-
ty committeeman for the past two
years for the AAA. Mailing ad-

Capt. Jack L. Fugate has been
assigned as executive officer to
the 2nd Detachment, The Artillery
School, at Fort Sill, Okla. Capt.
Fugate served overseas in the
ETO as a battery commander in
the 267th F. A. Ban. of the 3rd
Army. He saw combat in the
Northern France, Ardennes, Rhine-
land and Germany campaigns and
was awarded the Bronze Star Me-
dal and the Purple Heart. Prior
to being called to active duty in
1941 he was associated with the
Fugate Printing Co., Houston.
Capt. and Mrs. Fugate and their
two-year-old son, Grover Lee, re-
side at 1920 Sycamore Ave., Law-
ton, Okla. Mrs. Fugate is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hrd-
licka, Bryan, Texas.

tom agricultural work, contract-
ing plowing, planting and com-
bining of crops from farmers and
ranchers. He expects to build up
a business whereby he can give
a farmer or rancher complete farm
