Mr. Penberthy came to Texas A. & M. in 1926 as Intramural Di-
rector and Assistant Professor of Physical Education.
In 1937 the
Department of Physical Education was established separately from
intercollegiate athletics and Penberthy was made its head. His de-
partment is credited with having one of the finest programs among
the nation’s colleges and universities.
Mr. and Mrs. Penberthy reside in North Oak Wood adjacent to
the campus and have three children.
“Mr. Penny,” as he is known to
the thousands of A. & M. men in school since 1926, is one of the most
popular members of the College staff.

Lt. William Sidney Watson, US
NR, College Station, has been
awarded the Air Medal for his per-
formance as Patrol Commander, of
a Coronade seaplane during action
at Wake Island from Jan, 30 to
Feb. 11, 1944. He succeeded in
completing several night attacks on
Wake Island without loss of per-
sonnel or damage to his plane.
Martin Lantu, Jr., writes that he
has settled down at Cleveland, Tex-
as, and will get mail at Box 605.

Jack Gore is associated with his
father’s business known as Gore’s
Cleaners and Laundry. His mail-

Jamie Dawson, 6ft-7in. basket-
ball star will play this winter with
the Sheboygan Redskins, profes-
sional team at Sheboygan, Wis. He
is the youngest but the tallest of
the three Aggie Dawson brothers,
including Dooley, ’32, and Bill, 41.
All three participated in both bas-
ketball and football at A. & M.
It is now Mr. Clinton Hearn af-
ter returning to school, following
his release from service. He held
the rank of Capt. upon his release
from service, and spent 23 months
in the ETO. . . Mr. and Mrs. Wil-
liam Delaney are living in Bryan
but get mail at Box 2418, College
Station. Bill is back in school fin-
ishing up work toward a degree
in Fish and Game.
The Air Medal has been awarded
1st Lt. Clark Rennels, Lt. Rennels
is now out of the army, having
served 18 months as pilot on a C-46
transport plane in the Pacific
area. He has 1200 hours flying time
to his credit. Lt. Rennels is living
at Tyler at the present time but
plans to return to A&M at mid-
erm.
J. R. Latimer, back in school
following release from service, was
recently chosen as managing edi-
tor of the Texas Engineer, student
