Mr. Penberthy came to Texas A. & M. in 1926 as Intramural Di- rector and Assistant Professor of Physical Education. In 1937 the Department of Physical Education was established separately from intercollegiate athletics and Penberthy was made its head. His de- partment is credited with having one of the finest programs among the nation’s colleges and universities. Mr. and Mrs. Penberthy reside in North Oak Wood adjacent to the campus and have three children. “Mr. Penny,” as he is known to the thousands of A. & M. men in school since 1926, is one of the most popular members of the College staff. 1943 Jack B.
