Colquitt vis- | ited the campus in September while on leave awaiting orders for duties in the Panama Canal Zone. Major Colquitt, whose late grand- father was Governor of Texas, en- tered the Army in 1940 as a 2nd Lt. and the next year was trans- ferred to the regular army. He was made a major in 1943. He saw action in Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge. In Europe he served as an antiaircraft offi- | cer in the tactical air force pro-| viding fighter-bomber cover for the Third Army. He is now on the War Department’s General Staff assigned to the services, supply and procurement division. He is married and has one child, Joseph Michael, age four years. Jack A. Skaggs, 1419 W. 8th, Freeport, Texas, sends regards to classmates. Frank O. Maddox is a Sales Representative for the Lone Star Cement Corp. of Dallas and Hous- ton. Ransom, PMS- &T at North Georgia College, Dahlonega, Ga., is mighty proud of the second daughter born to him and Mrs. Ransom. The young lady’s name is Suzann and she was born on August 30. . . . Louis Nagy, former Major in the Army, is in charge of a registered herd of Herefords and a group of grade cattle for Mr. Henry Christian at Gonzales. Louis majored in A.H., and while in school was a member of the Saddle and Sirloin Club and ~ the freshman, junior and senior Livestock Judging Team. 1939 Robert M. Barthelow, Major on the Corps Staff during his college days, is living at 1208 S. Randall St., Pasadena, Texas. He has just recently moved there from Hous- ton. . . . Thomas B. Hooton is flying with the American Airlines and living in Fort Worth at 2732 Ryan Avenue. . . . Gordon F. Mec- Millan has moved to Junction, Texas. W. Henry Walters, former teacher of vocational agriculture at Hempstead, has moved to Bol- ing, Texas. . . . Capt. Edward B. Hrdlicka is attending a nine months officers advanced course at Fort Sill. Mrs. Hrdlicka, the former Miss Mallie Tatman, of Bryan, and their two children are living there with him during his training period. Lt. Col .D. L. Hodge, a native of Pledger, has been assigned to the Military Science Department at the College. Col. Hodge did patrol duty in the Caribbean Sea and his unit was credited with sinking two German submarines. He also served with the air force in England, North Africa and the Middle East. He has been award- ed the Distinguished Service Cross and the Silver Star. Major J. M. Cook has been as- signed to the Military Science Dept. at the College. He is a native of Carrizo Springs. Major Cook was called to active duty in 1940 and took paratroop training at Ft. Benning and served with the 511th Paratroop Infantry in the U.S. and Pacific until after the initial occupation of Japan. James C. Williams has complet- ed his service in the armed forces and has been made Assistant Sales manager for Uncle Johnny |. . . Mills in Houston. He and Mrs. Williams with their two children live at 8232 Lenore Dirve, Hous- ton 12. Their youngest child was born on July 11 and is named Beverly Ann. Albert L. Carpenter was a S/Sgt in the Lost Battalion. He has returned to school to complete work toward a degree and he and Mrs, Carpenter, the former Miss Nina Orchard, are living at Col- lege Station. Col. in the Air Corps when he received his discharge and after |: - a few months of leave accepted a position as Inspector for C.A.A., Oakland Municipal Airport, Oak- land, Calif. A Mechanical Engi- neering major, Pinkie was a mem- ber of the ASME, on the Swim- ming Team and served as Intra- mural Manager in ’36, ’37 and ’38. Lt, Barnes re- ceived his commission in 1943 and served as a liason pilot with the 280th FA Bn in the battles of Northern France, Ardennes, Cen- tral Europe and Rhineland. He found Elmo’s class ring and knowing Aggies, knew that Elmo was anxious to have it back in his possession. Jack served in the ERC from Nov. 1942 to Feb. 1943, receiving his commission Sept. 1943.
