agricultural agent-at-large for the
Extension Service. McHaney re-
cently has been discharged from
the army. He worked for several
years with the U. S. Dept. of
Agric., Bureau of Agric., Econom-
jcs at Amarillo, San Angelo and
Coleman. In November 1941 he
began work with the Farm Secur-
ity Adm. at McKinney and remain-
ed there until November 1942
when he entered the army. He
served both in this country and
wm Germany with the Army Engi-
neers.

Robert Mansfield is enjoying life at
Alamosa Ranch, San Angelo, Texas,
following his return to civilian life. Rob-
ert signed up for duty the day after Pearl
Harbor and was Pilot of a Fortress. He
was shot down over Kiel, Germany, on May
19, 1943, and remained a prisoner of the
Germans until May 1, 1945, when he was
released by the American 3rd Army.
George A. ‘Pete’ Adams, Jr, has
entered as a new partner in the long-
established Yeager-Edge Saddle Shop in
Bryan. Their business address is 318
North Main St. Pete returned home re-
cently from four years service, being
an officer in the famed Fourth Division of
the Marine Corps. He saw action at the
Marshall Islands, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo
Jima. He and his wife, the former Miss
Lucille Yeager, and their 20 months old
daughter live in Bryan.

was awarded a gold star in lieu of a sec-
ond Air Medal in a recent ceremony at
Corpus Christi. As a carrier-based fighter
pilot, Hagood previously won the DFC and
Air Medal. He is presently stationed at
Corpus Christi as a primary instructor. .

The Houston Press recently featured a
story in pictures of the first joining in
Germany of American and Russian troops
of approximately a year before. The Amer-
jean patrol was commanded by Lt. Al-
bert Kotzebue, 3600 Chevy Chase Drive,
Houston, He is the son of Col. L. L. Kotze-
bue, ’17, an army regular, and a nephew of
M. M. Kotzebue, ’'14, at the above Houston
address. Lt. Kotzebue enjoyed a leave in the
United States early in the spring but
has returned to Germany for occupational
duty. i

Shoe, new ‘‘Hourglass’’ Division Comman-
der, at Seoul, Korea. Veteran of 38 months
of army duty, Lt. Thompson served in the
Leyte, Mindanao and Panay campaigns.
Wounded in the Mindanao battle, he was
awarded the Purple Heart Medal. His
