and commanded a battalion all that
time, participated in two battle
campaigns and wears the Bronze

Texas, and expects to be home in
time for the Victory Homecoming
April 19-20-21.
E. V. Bond is working for Baroid
Sale Division in Houston and gets

Major Barton W. D. Cordell, 3809
Pershing St., Fort Worth, was a
recent visitor on the campus, He
spent 38 months in the Birming-
ham Ord. District as negotiator. He
and Mrs. Cordell have a three year
old son and before going into serv-
ice, the Major was a saleman for
the Texas Steel Company, of Fort
Worth.

Capt. Wm. E. Lawson is on term-

Earl F. Thomas came back from
the ETO recently where he served
with the 82nd Airborne Div. He
plans to go to work for the Sun
Oil Company as a Production En-
gineer and will be located in Beau-
mont until the middle of April. At
that time he and Mrs. Thomas will |.
go to Nova Scotia for the Com-
pany and will live in Amherst, Nova
Scotia.
R. B. “Bill” Livingston has re-
turned from Italy and getting

ton 6, Texas.
Lt. Comdr. Kenneth D. Brad-
shaw, pilot in the Naval Air Corps,
returned to the states last Novem-
ber. He plans to remain in service.

received his discharge in January
and is now employed by the U. S.
Engineers in Galveston.
Capt. Dial Martin is expected to
return to College Station and re-
turn to his teaching position with

Gordon C. Hall, 6438 Pinehurst,
Houston, was a recent campus visi-
tor. He is an engineer with Kelley
Mfg. Co., of that city.
Major W. A. Orth, Jr., has re-
turned to Dallas after nearly five
years of army service. He is visit-
ing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.
A. Orth, ’13, 3445 Hanover. Major
Orth has been in the coast artillery
and left a censorship post in Japan
when he was returned to the states
for terminal leave.
Capt. Martin T. Sealy, Box 293,
Route 1, Olympia, Washington, was
a February visitor on the campus.
He spent 2 months overseas and
earned two battle stars for the
campaigns of Anguar Isle and Ver-
sian. He was married in 1943 to
Miss Helen Hooman of Aberdeen,
Washington. He was enroute to
his job with the Credit Department
of the Puget Sound Power and
Light Co., at the time of his visit.

Bill Burton was promoted to Lit.
Col. while on terminal leave. He
was released in January after 51

Norman Irving Zelman has re-
turned from the ETO with the
rank of Lt., and has received his
discharge from service, He is as-
sociated with the Star Engraving
Company, Houston.
Dick Todd, former star back with
the Texas Aggies who ended the
1945 season with the Washington
Redskins pro gridders, will help
the coaching staff at the Univer-
sity of Oklahoma during the spring
practice.

of a son in January had the further
pleasure of discharging from the
Marine Corps Sgt. William G. Har-
rell, ’42, winner of the Congression-
al Medal of Honor. The event was
covered by a story and pictures in
the nation’s press. Shortly after
his discharge Sgt. Harrell was
married and plans to return to the
Rio Grande Valleye where his home
is at Mercedes.
George Fuermann has been
named Labor Editor of the “Hous-
ton Post” following his release
from the Army at Camp Shelby.
He has been plenty busy covering
for the “Post” the troubled labor
conditions in Houston this spring.
Lt. Col. Bill Becker was a camp-
us visitor in February while on
leave. His home is at Kaufman and
his next assignment is unknown.
He holds a regular commission and
has seen long service in the Pacific.

1939, originally entered the college
as the 6000th student to register
for the fall semester which broke
all existing attendance records at
the College. He entered on proceeds
of $300 cash scholarship awarded
for his proficiency as a 4-H Club
boy in raising cotton, hogs and beef
cattle. Upon gradution, he joined
the Army Air Corps, and flew
C-54 ships over the Himalayas in
the CBI. He flew the hump on 58
missions safely and came home a
first lieutenant wearing the Dis-
tinguished Flying Cross, the Air
Medal and the Chinese Memorial
Medal. He is married and has one
child.
