Hamil- ton, Jr., ’40, were married on Feb. 3 and following a wedding trip to Mexico will be stationed at Gal- veston. Lattimore-Evans Miss Mary Kay Lattimore be- came the bride of Capt. Robley David Evans, 40, recently in Fort Worth. After a two-week trip the young couple will live in Bryan. Before going into service, Capt. Evans was with the Extension Service. He was a Japanese pris- oner of war for three and half years and wears the Silver Star and four presidential citations. Beasley-Hall Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Here- ford have announced the marriage of their daughter, Helen Hereford Beasley, to Capt. James Estill Hall, ’40, on January 5. They are at home at Grapevine, Texas. Pistole-Winsor Miss Elsie Madolin Pistole be- came the bride of Capt. James K. Winsor, 41, in a double-ring cere- mony at the East Dallas Chrisitian Church in Dallas recently. They will live in Philadelphia, Pa. Capt. Winsor returned just recently from thirty-six months in the ETO and Pacific with the Signal Corps. Drake-Simmons Miss Joyce Elaine Drake, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Drake, Flint, Michigan, was married on January 6 to Lt. Cyron Simmons, ’41, of Trinidad. Lt. Simmons served in the Pacific area in the Marine Corps. The young souple will make their home at Trinidad. Scheihagen-Barron Miss Billie Jean Scheihagen and Major Joe Robinson Barron, 41, were married recently in Bryan. They will reside in Houston where Major Barron will be with the Humble Oil and Refining Company. Miss Scheihagen is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Scheihagen of Bryan. Bush-Young Miss Betsy Jane Bush, 3604 Hay- nie, Dallas, and Sam H. Young, ’42, 727 Elsbeth St., also of Dallas, were married in March and will make their home in that city, fol- lowing a honeymoon trip to New Orleans. Wedemeyer-Anderwald Capt. Frank R. Anderwald, ’42, and Miss Mary Helen Wedemeyer were married in Houston, on March 2, and paid the campus a visit en- route to California where the Cap- tain will spend his terminal leave. They plan to return to school in. the summer. | Frischmuth-Dunn : The marriage of Miss Barbara Virginia Frischmuth, to Capt. Jas. Lewis Dunn, Jr., 42, has been an- nounced. They were . married on March 3 and will be at home at Silver Taps Sidney J. Hernstadt, ’90 Sidney J. Hernstadt, ’90, founder and president of the Gilmer Oil Company of New York City died in Ardmore, Oklahoma, on Febru- ary 18, 1946. He was more than 70 years of age. He received his de- gree from A. & M. in Civil Engi- neering and was a cadet officer in Co. D. Mr. Hernstadt and his brother, Wm. L. Hernstadt, 551 Fifth Ave., New York 17, founded the Gilmer Oil Company. The company oper- ated extensive properties in Okla- homa. In addition to his brother, Mr. Hernstadt is survived by seve- ral siter. Fred F. Simmons, ’13 Fred F. Simmons, ’13, passed away at his ranch home near Sono- ra on January 28 of a heart at- tack. He attended A. & M. from 1909-11, taking the special two- year agricultural course. He was Secretary and Treasurer of the Sonora A. & M. Club. T/Sgt. Tommy Glass, ’41 T/Sgt. Tommy Glass, ’41, was killed in action over Germany on April 9, 1944, according to infor- mation received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Glass, Rt. 1, Alba, Texas. Sgt. Glass was a tur- ret gunner and was on his sixth mission when killed. Capt. A. S. “Buck” Ware, Jr., ’43 Capt. A. S.. “Buck’’ Ware, Jr., ’43, only son of County Judge and Mrs. A. S. Ware, Bryan, Texas, was killed in an automobile acci- dent in Germany on February 21, 1946. He was attached to occupa- tional forces in Germany. and was Births ~ Mr. and Mrs. Herbert H. Baker, ’32, Somerville, Texas, announce the birth of Herbert E. Baker, on December 13, 1945. Mr. and Mrs. James Higginbotham, ’38, Winters, Texas, announce the arrival of their son, Ernest R. Rolnick, USMCR, ’43, took place recently in New York City. The bridegroom had just recently returned from two years service in the Pacilif. They will be at home at 4401 Park Lane, Dallas. Evans-Brooks Miss Mildred Nell Evans became the bride of Lt. (jg) R. Odell Brooks, ’43, on September 8 in a ceremony at Corsicana, Texas. They are living on the campus and get- ting mail at Box 311, College Sta- tion. McEachin-Heath Miss Rosita Louise McEachin and Paul Heath, ’44, were married on January 13 in Bevery Hills, Calif. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Nicholas Evalenko. Mr. Heath is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl T. Heath, 5230 Miller, Dallas. The young couple will make their home in Dallas with the briedgroom’s varents. The groom was just recent- lv discharged from the Army Air Forces. -Windle-Harper Miss Carolyn Louis Windle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Windle, Salem, Nebraska, was mar- ried on February 23 to Lt. Harry E. Harper, 44, of Levelland. After a honeymoon trio in Texas, the voung couple will live at 3080 South Rutan, Wichita 10, Kansas. Barnett-Huddleston Miss Edith Jean Barnett, of Uvalde, became the bride of Dr. C. H. Huddleston, ’44, on January 13. The young couple is living in Uvalde where Dr. Huddleston is practicing veterinary medicine. Bishop-Stapp John K. Stapp, 44, and Misis Betty Bishop were married recent- ly and are living at Junction, Tex- as, where the briedgroom is run- ning for District and County Clerk. “Ikey” (Arthur L.) McCarroll, ’44, was best man at the wedding. Rubel-Ruttenberg Announcement of the marriage of Miss Hilda Laura Rubel to Jack A. Ruttenberg, ’44, has been re- ceived. They were married on March 10 and will be at home in Temple, Texas. Baldwin-Wendell Miss Catherine Baldwin, 5949 Prospect, and Robert Edward Wen- dell, ’45, 9904 Northwest Higrway, Dallas, were married recently in Dallas. Announcement of the approach- ing marriage of Miss Doris Rut- chik to Jerry Hoffman, ’46, USN, was made recently. Miss Rutchik is the daughter of Mr. and Abe Rut- chik, 2907 Park Row, and Mr. Hoff- man ic the son of Mr. and Mrs, Abe Hoffman, 4008 Bryn Mawr, both of Dallas. The wedding date will be announced later. with headquarters of the First Artillery Division. Called into the service while a student at A. & M., Capt. Ware was sent to O. C. S., at Ft. Sill, Okla., where he received his commission in May, 1943. He then took aviator training to qualify as a liaison of- ficer and received his promotion to First Lieutenant in May, 1944. He landed in France early in Septem- ber, 1944, and during the war served as liaison officer with a Field Ar- tillery outfit attached to the 102nd Infantry Division. Besides his parents, Capt. Ware is survived by one sister. Lt. Howell R. Young, ’43 Lt. Howell R. Young, ’43, missing in action since February 19, 1945, is presumed dead according to in- formation received from the War Department by his wife, Mrs. Howell R. Young, 614 W. Louisiana St., McKinney, Texas. A flight en- gineer on a B-29, Lt. Young was stationed on Saipan and was lost while on a mission to Tokyo. Lt. Edwin E. Brashear, 45 Lt. Edwin E. Brashear, ’45, re- ported missing in action a year ago, is now presumed dead ac- cording to information received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Brashear, Brownwood, Texas, Lt. Brashear was a B-24 bomber pilot, and his plane was downed while on a mission over the Bonin Islands. It was his 33rd combat mission. Be- sides his parents, Lt. Brashear is survived by his wife, Mrs. Billie Ward Brashear, Baird, Texas. Sgt. Earl T. Brown, Jr., ’46 Sgt. Earl T. Brown, Jr., ’46, re- ported missing in action in Ger- many in December, 1944, has been officially listed as dead by the War Department. He was killed on December 10 when he charged across open ground under heavy enemy fire and directed his men to safety. He was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl T. Brown, 67 Sherman St., Wollaston, Mass. Sgt. Brown entered the service upon completion of his freshman year at A. & M. in 1943. He was sent overseas in September, 1944, with the First Army. He has been posthumously awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. F/0 William D. Jones, ‘46 Flight Officer William David Jones, ’46, has officially been de- clared dead after being reported missing in aetion since September 10, 1945, Navigator on a B-24, he was returning with Allied pris- oners of war from Burma when his plane crashed in Formosa. Alex writes that his two sons and two daughters are happy to be in position to compete in farm projects with other boys and girls. In September, 1937 he was assigned as assistant in agricultural planning and in Au- gust, 1943 became organization and cooperative marketing specialist, the position he held when granted leave of absence for military duty. Luther E. Bell Box 335 Del Rio, Texas Proud Papa: Herbert H. Baker. E. A. Stobart on duty in Manila with the headquarters of the Army forces in the Western Pacific has been promoted to the rank of Lt. Colonel, His home address is 4336 Livingston, Dallas. Before going overseas last July, Col. Stobart served as signal supply officer at Eighth Service Command Head- quarters. Lt. Col. Claude Evans has been separated from service after being on active duty since 1941. He served one year in the ETO, was wound- ed by shrapnel near Frankfort, Germany, and spent a year in army ‘| hospitals.
