Lt. Walter E. Allen, 1415 Fair-
view, Houston, was liberated from
a German prison camp on April
29, 1945, after about two years of
imprisonment. Navigator of a B-17
plane, Lt. Allen was first reported
missing in action in June, 1943,
and later reported a prisoner.
Lt. C. D. Reeves stationed at the
Naval Air Training Base, Corpus
Christi, Texas, brought the Naval
Air Training Base Basketball team
to the College recently for a game
with the Aggies. He made the
trip in a P. B. Y.-54, Consolidated

has been discharged from service

sion, He recently sent a 2% pound
naval orange from his grove to
his Uncle, L. B. Thompson, of Bry-
an, Texas. LePage writes that he
has at least 450 tons of citrus in
his orchard and has just started
gathering the crop.

Leon B. Parker received his pro-
motion to Capt. on Oct. 16, 1945,

Rosenberg, returned to the states
in late December after spending 29
months in the Southwest Pacific
with an Ord. Depot Co. He was on
the campus in early January
making plans to re-enter school in
February.
Lt, James C. Hubble is out of
the service and has bought a home
at 1209 Antone St., Bryan, where
he, his wife and baby daughter,
Dottie Lou, will reside while James
completes his work in Vet. Medi-
cine. Lt. Hubble has just returned
from a year in England.
Lt. John L. Swank, 3543 Grana-
da, Dallas, Texas, has returned
from 40 months in the Pacific. He
was a recent visitor on the camp-
us making plans to return to
school in Feb.
Corporal John R. Watson, at-
tached to the 1st Armd. Div. of
the occupational forces in Germany,
recently completed the 2nd term
at Biarritz American Univ, of Pa-
ris and assigned to the School of
Agronomy. He has been in the ETO
for 18 months. He is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. J. Elmer Watson,
Groesbeck, Texas. ,
M/Sgt. B. James Barr arrived
in the States last June 17 after
being released from a German pri-
son camp. Engineer and top gun-
ner on a B-17, he was captured on
October 8, 1943, when his plane
was shot down in Northern Ger-
many and was interned for 19
months. He is the son of Mr, and
Mrs. B. J. Barr, 1929 Olympia,
Houston. :
Edward T. Rogers has returned
from the ETO and is living in Ama-
rillo, 2119 Van Buren St.
Lt. W. R. “Dub” Sibley, Jr,
U. S. M. C. R,, drops a line from
1715 W. Walker, Breckenridge, re-
porting his arrival home and that
he would soon be released from the
Marine Corps. He plans to go to
Houston and attend school and
would be glad to hear from any-
body in that city who might know
of a place to live. On a recent
visit to Fort Worth he enjoyed a
bull session with Marion “Dookie”
'| Pugh and Gene Perry. All of them
plan to be present at the Victory
Homecoming next April 19-21.
Billy B. Short is a “Mr.” again
and home at 432 Sunset Ave., Dal-
las, Texas. He spent 13 months
in the ETO and suffered wounds
in Germany last March. He is fit
as a fiddle now and will be in
school in February.
Capt. Earl Eugene Hall is at
home in Beaumont, 1196 Broadway,
after 18 months in the ETO and
6 months in the Pacific.
E. E. Liebhofsky paid the office
a visit in early January. He is
getting mail at Box 201, Shiner,
Texas.
Lt. James E. Lynch, Jr., is with
7th F. A. Bn, Fort Bragg, N. C.
He has a young daughter four
months old named Elizabeth.
Lt. Jack H. Adams, Mabank,

Harry M. Burger, Jr., was a vis-
itor on the campus January 9. He
had just been released from mili-
tary service and was making pre-
parations to re-enter school Feb.
1. He had spent a total of 4 years
and 8 months in military service,
and was overseas with a .general
hospital in the ETO for 10 months.
Sgt. Mark Coston, Jr., is living
in Brenham, Texas, but will re-
turn to school in February. He
has been released from service aft-
er being on active duty for three
and half years.
Flight Officer Alvin J. Ober-
lander, son of Mr. and Mrs. Au-
gust Oberlander, ’14, 2515 Fort
Ave., Waco, Texas, has been award-
ed the Soldier's Medal for out-
standing heroism, in Calcutta, In-
dia. Oberlander was first on hand
at the crash of a B-24 Liberator,
scurried over the flaming wings
in the face of an impending explo-
sion and hacked an opening in the
fuselage and freed the trapped oc-
cupants. F'/O Oberlander has been
forced down on two occasions, once
at sea and the other was a forced
landing on the North African des-
ert during the Battle of El Ala-
mein, He is serving as a pilot
with the 329th Air Serv. Gp. and
gets mail at 329 ASG, APO 429,

James D. Batson, son of Mrs.
C. W. Batson, 530 Byrne St., Hous-
ton 9, Texas, returned to the
States last June after being re-
leased from a German prison camp.
He received his discharge in Octo-
ber and is at present working for
the Telephone Co
Lt. Charles W. Pearson, Paducah,
Texas, has been discharged from
the Army and plans to enter A.
& M. in February. He returned to
the States in June, 1945, after ten
months in a German prison camp.
Lt. Pearson was a bombardier on
a B-17 and was taken prisoner
when his plane was shot down over
Central Germany in June, 1944.
Capt. J. G. Swope, Jr., has re-
turned from overseas duty, and at
home at 1846 W. Summit Pl., San
Antonio. He and his father, Col. J.
G. Swope, ’17, recently paid the
campus a visit. Capt. Swope served
14 months in the ETO and 6 months
in the Pacific.
Lt. Richard H. Phillips, Jr., is
on Okinawa with Cannon Co. 24th

Ensign Arthur M. Tubb, Jr., navy fight-
er pilot on the aircraft carrier Enterprise,
has been missing in action for more than
a year and is assumed dead. His parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur M. Tubb live at 2610

ceived the Distinguished Service Cross with
Gold Star, the Air Medal and the Silver
Star. His wife and young daughter live

Thomas E. Prater has returned to col-
lege after two years of active duty. He
