Collins, Jr., ’45, combat pilot of a P-38 fighter plane, was killed in action on Leyte on December 13, 194¢ He was the only child of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Collins, Gonzales, Texas. Called to active service in February, 1943, Lt. Collins trained as a cadet pilot and received his commission at Williams Field, Ariz., in March, 1944.
