A little bad luck forced me to postpone my contribution. I was completely “burned out” twice in a litttle over two months. After the first one, I hardly had time to re-equip myself before another fire oc- cured—this time on Friday, the 13th. It seems to me I have sent home a good proportion of the Class of 42; now 1 am hoping for someone to send me home. First, Bob Burney, ’42, from San Antonio, was in the hospital near me, and I was able to see him off to the U. S. A. Next, “Monk’’ Vance, from Bryan, had a “crack- up” when he was flying too low in ‘a Jeep. He was admittted to th hospital but was soon on his way home. Charlie Steven- son, ’43, was in the same hospital on three occasions before he finally won his return ticket home. I was out to visit all these guys as often as was possible, and tho- roughly enjoyed the long sessions we had. Besides these Aggies, I have also seen the following men recently: Lt. Dobbs, ’42, who, at the time I saw him, was with a troop carrier unit and had suffered rough experiences; Lt. Lacy, ’43, was the “Vet in our area for quite some time before he left to join the Fifth Army Mountain Division, as mule surgeon or something to that effect. “Tiny” Admire, 42, was around Naples with an Infantry Replacement Company. He was looking good with his new moustache, and he wasn’t getting smaller —not that I could notice, anyway. Lt. Biggs, ’42, was with a Field Artillery Unit on the Fifth Army front. Lt. Felten- stein, ’42, was on the ‘Fish” football team with us, but later attended another school. He is now with the Fifteenth Air Force. Then I had a pleasant surprise when I found my old “Roomie”, Pete Henry, ’42, was stationed in the same town with me. We are able to see each other quite often and have had a lot of fun at these get- togethers. Also I met Lt. Bill Ramsey, 38, who was stationed on a Liberty Ship, which was in port only a few days. One heck of a nice guy came over to see me while I was visiting in Naples, and he turned out to be Lt. Lindsy, from Houston. We had a wondertul Muster over here, and Charlie Stevenson, Marvin Hall and 1 went up for it. I'm sure it was reported from up there, so I'll only add that we had a large attendance and a very good session. J In connection with Marvin Hall, I can say that he is closely associated with the Russians and has had some unusual ex- periences with them, which should prove to be very interesting subject matter for some good sessions, once we all return home. Hall certainly hasn’t lost any of his appetite either. Before I forget, I must mention that Jennings Anderson, ’45, from San Antonio, 464, NYC. . . . . CAPT. LOUIS E. js in Burma, and writes some very inter- esting letters about that country. His ad- SOUTHWEST Fully D. D. Budd, Pres; H. H. W.' M. Sparks, Chairman; Judge M. H.
