Last year’s record number of contributors was topped by 704 men and last year’s total amount was bested by $10,594.00. The 1945 Fund was the third and most successful since this program was made the only financial solicitation of the Ex-Student Association. Free-For-All Among The Classes Class competition on percentage of contributors waxed warmer during the year and this year’s report shows many changes in stand- ing. A different method of calculating the percentage of contributors accounts for some changes in rank but in most cases the changes came about thru the hard work of Class Agents and others. For the second year the 1942 Class took top honors with 1943 nearly in a dead heat. Mention must be made of the great performance of all the “Forty” class group with every one of them being’ among the HONOR LASERS with the exception of 1946 which barely missed that classi- ication The greatest jump in class standing was made by the 1934 class which rose from 42nd place to 9th, under the leadership of Class Agent-President Tull Gearreald and Henry Wendler. They appointed a number of assistants, put in some special work themselves and demonstrated what a class can accomplish along this line. The ’34 rise is all the' more spectacular considering that both Gearreald and Wend- ler are in the army and their work had to be done by mail and by assistance from other widely separated classmates. Other classes showing rapid rises in the class standings include 1900, 1907, 1939, 1938, 1933, 1940 and 1944. The 1945 class leads in the increase in number of contributors with 212 more donors than in the previous year. They were followed by ’44 with a 169 increase, *46 with 125, and ’43 with 100. ome High Spots of the ’45 Fund Those “Fighting Forty” Classes—Let’s talk about something else; they’ve won most of the honors anyhow. Friends, RE errtae: Clubs and Musters—Take a look at that list of donors which is growing steadily. The help of that group is deeply appreciated by every A. & M. man. Battle of the Hats—Bob Adams, ’39, bet hats against John Bone, ’38, and Max McCullar, '40, on their respective class standings. Adams won a hat from Bone but lost a hat to McCullar, so Bone seems to be the only loser in the three- cornered battle. And a “Thank You Ma'am to the Ladies—Many an Aggie’s con- tribution these days comes via the Little Woman, or his Mother, and their interest and aid in A. & M. affairs is a bright spot. The “Junior Aggie” list of contributors was joned this year by the Misses Harris and Williams. Mighty happy we are to have them listed, too, along with the Junior Aggies. A Bow to ’34—Jumping from 42 to 9 in class standing is a record for the Fund. It resulted when Tull Gearreald and Henry Wendler put their heads together and Henry led the charge that got results.
