Hervey “I have been overseas since Jan- uary and moving continually. On some of the moves I have done some thinking about class affairs and have also discussed an idea with other ’42 men. I am taking the liberty of appointing a 1942 Post-War Planning Committee. I realize that it will be impossible for the committee to get together and even impractical for them to interchange letters. Nevertheless, each can spend some time on his own planning and talk with other members of the class. In this way we can plan ways and means to tie some loose ends of class affairs together. “I am asking the committee list- ed below to give thought to these items: (1) a class homecoming when practical and possible; (2) the possibility of a memorial for all or each of the class who gave his life in the armed services; (3) ways and means of keeping the class together and providing each of us with news about others; (4) post-war plans for Texas A. & “The following are asked to serve as the Post-War Planning Committee: Major Luther West- brook, APO 650, N.Y.C.; Capt. Elbert V. Higgins, APO 885, N. Y. C.; Lt. Ransom D. Kenny, Jr. ., APO 565, San Francisco, Calif.; Lt. James R. King, Jr., APO 80, N. Y. C.; and Capt. Don H. Walton, APO 201, San Francisco, Calif. “] wish other members of the class would also give some thought to the items mentioned and to any others. It is suggested that you pass your thoughts and suggestions along to some member of the com- mittee. I know every 1942 man feels as I do, that we belong to the best class that ever graduated from A. & M., and I want us all to have a part in keeping the class at the top.
