First Aggie Swimming Champions
Aggie Swimming Coach, Arthur Adamson, and all former Aggie tankers heaved a hugh sigh of relief
when this year’s Aggie swimmers won their first conference championship with an upset performance
at Gregory Gym in Austin. The final score was 84-80. Tom Syfan, of A. & M., was the individual star.
Aggie Captain, Allen Self, clinched the championship with a strong final lap and victory in the 440 free-
style relay. Although the cadets tied for the title last year, this year’s championship was the first one by
conference sport thirteen years ago.
