PVT. ALDEN S. McKELLAR, USMC,
Hq. Sqgdn. Flight Sec., Marine Air West
Coast, NAS, San Diego 35, Calif., hopes
to enter officer candidate school soon. He
had a tough time getting into the service
but has moved along fast since prevailing
on the Marines to take him in.
CAPT. OTIS J. BOLTON of New Baden,
Texas, has been awarded the bronze star
for his work as engineering officer with
the 15th AAF B-24 Liberator heavy bom-
bardment group. The group has flown
more than 200 combat missions against the
Nazis.

PFC. WILLIAM J. KESSLER, only son
of W. A. Kessler, 3929 Oxford St., El
Paso, and the late Mrs. Kessler, is a pris-
oner of war of the Germans. According
to a message broadcast from Berlin on
December 30, Pvt. Kessler was captured
on December 3 during fighting on the
Western Front. Mr. and Mrs. Kessler had
previously been notified that their son was
missing in action since November 27, and
Mrs. Kessler died of grief on Christmas
Day before learning that her son was alive.
