Dear Mac:—I am very sorry that I am
.80 long in answering your most welcome
letter received here at Camp Parks when
I returned from my leave. We arrived in
the States Dec. 4, and were released for
thirty days leave on Dec. 14, so spent
Christmas and New Year’s at home with

had never ceen, so I consider it the best
Christmas I have ever had. The 30 days
passed as so many hours, but I have my
family here with me and * spend four
nights per week with them. My son is a
very determined little fellow, so the school
will have a live wire about 1960.
I just returned to camp this. morning
from a temporary assignment to the Bur-
eau of Yards and Docks in San Francisco.

Dear Mac:—Plans for our East Texas
Muster have not yet hit ‘‘gale’” strength,
but feel sure that under our local club
president, GUY CROOM, we will have a
good gathering of all the local exes.
In throwing in with you whole-heartedly
on the idea of Class Letters and a closer
bonding of each class thru these bulletins,
may I suggest that it would be of great
interest to all the members of each class
to know more definitely where each mem-
ber was and what class of effort that
member is engaged in. How about asking
each member to pass along a few inter-
esting facts about himself and his work.
I personally would very much enjoy know-
ing more thoroughly where each member
of my class now is and what he does to
keep body and soul together.
Since getting tied down so close on our
Marine Gears, I haven’t had an opportu-
nity to get out as much as I'd like and
as much as I had the opportunity in
past years. I've been serving as produe-
tion engineer on the drives we are now
building for LST boats, Army Cargo
Ships and generator gears for Destroyer
Escorts. Spend quite a bit of time away
from the plant but around the shipyards
on Great Lakes and on the coasts, I don’t
run into many of our dry-land Aggies.
GORDON G. LANGSTON, ’85, who is
associated with our Trailer Division, does
see a great number of the fellows scat-
tered from Washington south and west.
Referring again to the suggestion of a
bulletin covering all members of the class,
I would be happy to help if possible in
the more complete listing of these fel-
lows than is allowed in the limited space
of THE AGGIE.

Dear Mac: —I think this class letter
idea is a good one, and want to commend
you and Jake Hamblen for putting it into
operation. I welcome the opportunity to
communicate with some of my old buddies
again. To the Class of ’34 I will say:
It’s a real break to have the opportunity
to again get in close touch with the old
gang, especially the many of you that I
haven’t seen in years. I haven’t seen Tull
in a long time but his letter sounds like
he’s the same old guy we elected to lead
us a decade ago. Let’s rally behind him
again.
Quite a number of our classmates are
in the service now and really putting out
to get this thing settled. I’ve been stationed
here in Washington shuffling papers since
Oct. 1940. Frequent field trips make it
interesting. I'm now a member of the
National Organization of “Swivel-Chair
Pilots.” You have to have a real “spread”
to get in! Other class members who are
veterans of the Pentagon-Potomac cam-
paign are LT. COL. “SMUCK” KENDER-
DINE, QM; MAJOR JOHN R. RICHARD-
SON, Engr.; MAJOR W. H. “JUG” TUR-
NER, Ord.; CAPT. JACK BAKER; and
LT. JOHNSON CHARSKE (Navy—one of
our allies). I saw MAJOR LOUIS
PIETZSCH on his way through here to
India. Also BARNEY HOLMES, a Major
shortly after he’d returned from Africa.
TY TIMM, DONALD HOOSER, FRED
GRIMMEL and CARROLL ROBERTS
were also in the Capital at one time. MA-
JOR “MIT” S. MILTON STUBBS was
checking up on PX’s last time I was in
Dallas, and MAJOR ED ERWIN is at
Denver with the AAF.
I was sent on a short trip to England
in January. There are lots of Aggies
over there and some of them big Army
men. I ran into CAPT. BILL BARRETT,
’36, coming out of ETO Hq. and we had
a short chat. He’s been over there for
some time. Ask him about the “Piccadilly
Commandos” when you see him again.
Next time you get to Washington, make
it a point to attend the A. & M. Club
meeting the third Thursday in each month.
The 1934 FLAG POLE sounds O. K. to
me. Personally, I haven’t been able to
think of a better name for our letters.
I certainly agree with Tull that 40th
is no place for the class of ’34 to finish.
A bunch of first-raters should be right
at the top! If you haven’t mailed your
Development Fund check for 1944, how
about doing it now?
Let’s get this thing over with soon, get
CARY ABNEY, J. B. HEINEN, and other
prisoners of war home again and have a
reunion down at Aggieland. Best regards.
