CAPT. R. W. ALDREDGE is in the
service at Camp Beale, Calif. He may
be addressed there through APO 263.
C. J. ANDERSON lives at Pecos, Texas.
CAPTAIN STOCKTON D. BRUNS, son
of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bruns, of Louise,
Texas, is a prisoner of war in the Philip-
pines, according to an announcement by
the War Department. ..He received his
degree in petroleum engineering.
CAPTAIN GUS H. FROEBEL, son of
Mrs. T. H. Froebel of San Antonio, is
a prisoner of war in the Philippines. He
received his degree in textile engineering.
MR. and MRS. T. FRANK HUNTER
featured a picture of their two beautiful
young daughters on their Christmas cards.
They live at 2241 N. W. 17th, Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma.
MAJOR SIDNEY T. MARTIN was re-
cently promoted to that rank and is in
the U. S. Engineer Corps at Fort Bel-
voir, Ga. After graduation from A. & M.
in 1935, Major Martin attended and was
graduated from West Point. He played
football at both schools and was an out-
standing student.
LT. JAMES OPPENHEIM is another
A. & M. man last heard from on Bataan.
His wife has recently joined the WAAC’s
and is in training at Des Moines, Iowa.
CORPORAL HOUSTON PARIS is an
instructor in gunnery at Aberdeen Prov-
ing Ground, Maryland. He expects to be
transferred to officer candidates school
soon. Prior to going into the Army,
Paris was a consulting Petroleum Eng-
ineer at Corpus Christi. He is married
and his wife lives in Tyler, Texas.
CAPTAIN FLETCHER B. POPE has
been assigned to the 4th Sub-Depot,
Amarillo Field, Amarillo.
W. D. SCOATES, formerly of College
Station and a son of the late Professor
Dan Scoates, head of the Agr. Eng. De-
partment here, is now living in Chica-
go, Ill.
CAPT. G. W. SNIVELY is assigned to
the Air Service Command, Goodfellow
Field, San Angelo, Texas.
J. W. SORENSON is a Captain in the
U. S. Army, and receives his mail at
‘Stephenville, Texas.
CAPT. KENNETH TUCKER is located
at Foster Field, Texas, at Victoria, and
is getting along splendidly.
ENSIGN C .G. “SPIKE” WHITE, form-
erly a member of the Physical Education
Department of the College, is an instruc-
tor at the U. S. Naval Pre-Flight School
at the University of Iowa, Iowa City.
“Spike” received his degree in electrical
engineering in 1935 but later returned
.and studied physical education and for
-the past several years has been a member
.of that department at A. & M. He re-
.ceived his commission in Dallas.

MACK STALLINGS erroneously reported
in a previous issue as Sterling, is still
waiting his call for the Air Forces. He

LEONARD C. TRAYLOR is somewhere
in England. His wife and three month
old son are living at 1915 Belmont
Ave., Fort Worth. Traylor will exper-
dence a real thrill upon his return as he
has not seen his son.

RODNEY F. CHAMLESS took office
as sheriff of Madison County on January

CAPT. WALTER M. DAGGETT was
recently promoted to his present rank,

CAPT. C. W. FORMAN is Battery Com-

family in Dallas of his safe arrival over-
seas. He is a member of the Signal

CAPT. JIM P. LOVE is stationed at
Spokane, Wash., where he is a chemical
officer of the Air Force.
CAPT. WILLIAM G. LUCEY has re-
cently been promoted to Major. He is
attending Command and General Staff
School at Fort Leavenworth, Kans. His
wife, Mrs. Sylvia Sandoz Lucey, resides
in Fort Worth with his mother and sister
for the duration.
ENSIGN PASCHAL MARTIN, USNR,
is in the Production Department, Charles-
ton Navy Yard, Charleston, S. C. He
recently completed an engineering train-
ing course there. He was a member cof
the teaching staff at the Mechanical
Engineering Department here at A. &
M. before entering the Navy last fall.
LT. JUSTIE O. McMAHAN, formerly
of the Martindale Mortgage Company of
San Antonio, can now be reached at APO

LT. HUNTER W. PARKS, Burkburn-
ett, has reperted for Army duty in New
Orleans. Parks has recently been em-
ployed in Houston.

MAJOR KYLE RIDDLE, former Aggie
baseball pitching star in the U. S. Air
Forces, is now in Muroe, Calif.
FIRST LT. DAVID M. SNELL, son
of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Snell of Dallas,
is a prisoner of war in the Philippines.
He was an active member of the Dallas
A. & M. Club and was with the Trinity
Universal Insurance Company before go-
ing on active duty.

A. L. THOMPSON is a Private in the
U. S. Army and is based at Perrin Field,

College Station, has been promoted from
a first lieutenant to a captain. His ad-

KERMIT ANDERSON is right in the
thick of the fight to overcome the rubber
shortage. He is engaged in the highly
important research program for the J.
M. Huber Corporation. Details of his
work cannot be disclosed for military
reasons but it is highly important and
may play a tremendous part in solving
the rubber problem. He gets his mail at
Box 831, Borger, Texas.
D. L. BIDWELL is associated with
the Soil Conservation Service at Lin-
dale, Texas.
CAPTAIN WILBERT A. CALVERT,
son of Mrs. Jeanette Calvert of Archer
City, Texas, is a prisoner of war in the
Philippines. He received his degree in
liberal arts.
LT. WARREN E. (RED) CHURCH of
Colorado City, Texas, is one of the Ameri-
can flyers regularly raiding the Axis
Positions in North Africa. A tackle on
the Aggie football teams of 1935, 36, and
37, Church was with the Soil Conserva-
tion Service before going on active duty.
FRANK O. CLOUDT is receiving dou-
ble congratulations. He received his cap-
taincy last October and was married on
December 30. He is a department head
of the Officers Candidate School at the
F. A. Replacement Training Center, Fort
Sill, Okla.

headquarters will be Jourdanton, Texas.
As a student at A. & M., Freiberger will
be remembered as a basketball star.

signed to the Air Service Command,

CAPTAIN ROY C. GARRETT is on
active duty, and assigned to Medford,
Oregon.

LT. JOE B. GUERRA sends a V-mail
letter from “somewhere in the Blue Pa-
cific below the Equator’: He has been
stationed in the Hawaiian Islands, but
hopes the next jump will be Australia.

PVT. RICHARD KESSLER is on active
duty and at the present time attached
to Co. D, 37th Inf., Tng. Bn., Barracks
204, Camp Croft, South Carolina. He
reports he is proud of his uniform and
ready to fight the Japs.

Fort Sam Houston, is with the 602nd
Tank Destroyer Battalion, Camp Hood,

TOM A. MURRAH has recently moved
from Houston to San Antonio, where
his new address is F.D.I.C., Box 1119 in
that city.
LT. A. J. PHILLIPS has recently
been premoted to Captain. He has been
stationed in the South Pacific war zone
since March, 1942, and has been on active
duty since August, 1940. His wife will
remain in Alexander City, La. until Capt.

been transferred from Camp Young, Cali-
fornia, to the 2nd Armored Sig. Bn., Fort
Ord, California.

Chapel Hill, has recently been |oro-
moted to Captain at Camp Wolters, Texas.
Captain Routt was a former All-Ameri-
can guard on A. & M.’s grid team while
here in school.

the Commando division in North Africa.
He took his master’s degree here in
1939.
BOB SMITH, formerly with the AAA
here on the campus, is now living at

LT. THOMAS A. BENNETT, of Fort
Worth, is visiting his family in Wichita
Falls after service with the Army Signal
Corps in England. Until his call ot active
duty, Bennett was an engineer with the
Texas Electric Service Company at Wich-
ita Falls.
LT. ED BROWN is assigned to Camp
Funsten, Kansas.
J. E. DAY is living in Little Rock,
Arkansas,
LT. R. P. DEVINE of Eagle Pass re-
ported to the Army Air Force Bombard-
ment Base at Will Rogers Field, Okla.,
recently for duty. He received his com-
mission in Miami Beach, Fla., after at-
tending an Officers’ Candidate School
Before entering the service, he was em-
ployed by the Humble Oil & Refining
Company in Corpus Christi.

LT. ERNEST KEITH LANGFORD, son
of Mr, and Mrs. Ernest Langford, ’15,
College Station, writes a vivid picture
of the life of an American soldier in
Alaska. When the thermometer rises to
only 10 or 20 degrees below zero, the
boys start putting on lighter clothes. He
reports visiting with Lt. Jack Shelton, 41.
PVT. NORMAN E. LEACH has been
transferred to Camp Adair, Oregon,

Cavalry Replacement Center at Camp
Forsyth, near Fort Riley, Kan.
LT. S. A. KERLEY, stationed at Camp
Barkeley, has been promoted from sec-

U. S. Army, and receives his mail through

Clarence I. Miller of Bryan, Texas, is
a prisoner of war in the Philippines.
He received his degree in architecture.
LT. JOHN NAUGHTON is assigned to
the 10th Cavalry, Camp Lockett, Calif.
LT. JOHN RAY NOLES, son of Mrs.
E. L. Winn of Huckaby, is reported to
be a prisoner of the Japanese in the
Philippines. He was in the Army Air
Force at Clark Field, was wounded, re-
turned to active duty on Bataan, and
presumably was captured at the fal
of Corregidor.
CAPT. WILLIAM A. (BILL) ORTH,
JR., is assigned to the 302nd Coast Ar-
tillery Barrage Balloon Battalion at Camp
Tyson, Tenn. There are about 25 other
Aggies at Camp Tyson, aeeording to Bill,
and several officers from Washington
State, so the last game of this foetball
season created a near riot at that post.
PVT. BEN J, PENA is in the Army,
and is at present stationed at Fort Sam
Houston, Texas.
1ST LT. RUDOLPH R. SAN MIGUEL,
San Antonio, is located at the 4th Sub
Depot, Amarillo Field, Amarillo, Texas.
LT. HARVEY H. STORMS, former
track letterman, is located at Camp White,
Oregon, and is assistant to CAPT. E.
C. “JEEP” OATES, ’41
DICK TODD, former Aggie football
great and in recent years a star with
the Washington Redskins of the pro
league, was unable to play in the recent
All-Star pro game because of reporting
for duty to the U. S. Navy. His home is
at Crowell where he has been ranching
in off seasons between football ecam-
paigns.
CAPT. WADE C. WALLES, JR, is
stationed at an advanced American Fight-
er Base somewhere on an African moun-
tainside. He is accredited with downing
a German plane. He is a native of Port
Neches, Texas, and was a P. E. majer
while in A.&M.
LT. GROVER C. WHITE, JR., stationed
in the Hawaiian Islands, was recently pro-
moted to captain.
CAPT. PAUL O. WOFFORD, former
football and basketball player, is station-
ed at Ft. Sill, Okla. Mrs. Wofford lives
in nearby Lawton.
1940
He spent his Christmas enroute to Phil-
adelphia. There was a pleasant surprise
awaiting him at Philadelphia, however,
in that he received his promotion to first
lieutenant. He reports having run into
only one A.&M. man, JACK BIBBS, ’40.

JAMES GROTE, and LT. BILL REED-
ER are on a “French-speaking South
Pacific Island.” He sends his regards
to his Aggie friends, and would like te

LT. ANDY M. JAMES, JR., son of
A. M. James, Sr., of Dalhart, is a Jap-
anese prisoner in the Philippines. He serv-
ed through both the Bataan and the
Corregidor sieges.
OTTO K. KOEHLER of Daisetta, has
been promoted to the rank of captain.
Capt. Koehler has been stationed at Camp
Wolters for the past 17 months, and has
been company commander of a rifle
training company for the past six months.
Koehler is also a graduate of the In-
fantry School at For Benning. Before en-
tering the army on active duty, the cap-
tain was employed by the Texas Company.
Captain Koehler and Mrs. Koehler re-
side in Mineral Wells, Texas.
CAPT, W. R. “BILL” LEDBETTER is
in an anti-aircraft unit at Fort Bliss.
He is a former member of the Aggie
Band. ¢
LT. J. B. LEFTWICH has been trans-
ferred from Luke Field, Ariz., to the
Army Air Base, 6th Ferrying Group,
Long Beach, Calif.
CAPT. PAUL LEMM has reported to
Columbus, Ga., where he will attend
officers’ training school. He was form-
erly staitoned at La Crosse, Wis.
CARROLL C. MARTIN, of McGregor,
has recently recived his captaincy. Since
last August he has been located at Cam
Campbell, Ky. ;
CAPT. CHARLES R. McCLINTICK was
one of six to receive the assignment of
instructor in the Advanced Instructors’
School at Carlsbad, New Mexico. He is
in the Air Corps.. He reports that his
“old lady” at A.&M., LT. (i. g.) A.
GRAHAM RAHT, is executive officer
on a destroyer on convoy duty, and re-
ceives his mail 9% Charleston Naval Base,
Charleston, S. C. Captain MecClintick

CHARLES A. McINTIRE, Brownsville,
has received his Captaincy and is at pres-
ent Operations Officer at Stewart Field
(Air Force Basic Advanced Flying School),
West Point, New York.
IT. BR. J. MURRAY is on active duty
somewhere in the South Seas. He sends
greetings to the Aggies all over the
world, and says he and the many Aggies
located there with him “‘have everything
you hear about in these islands except
the Amazon female.” His friends may

CAPT. W. H. OSWALT, III, is on the
faculty of the research engineers school
at Fort Belvoir, Va, He has been in the
Army since February, 1942.

MRS. O, E. BEEZLEY, wife of Col
O. E. Beezley, who was stationed at
A.&M. for a number of years, died re-
cently at Camp Livingston, La., where
Col. Beezley is now stationed.
LT. JOHN C. BIBBS has been moved
to the Frankford Arsenal at Philadelphia,
Pa. He is in the Fire Control Design
Division.
LT. RALPH C. BILLS, native of Daw-
son, is on active duty with the U. S.
Air Forces in New Guinea, and was re-
cently accredited with shooting down a
Japanese Zero fighter in a dogfight. He
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A, Bills,
Spring Hill, Texas. _
LT. JACK BLACK is attending the
Cavalry School at Fort Riley, Kan.
LT. CLINT W. BRACHER is at pres-
ent a Student Officer at Brooks Field,
Texas,
LT. HENRY B. BUTTRILL has re-
cently been transferred from Tule Lake,
California, to Florence, Arizona, where
he is assigned to an Enemy Alien In-
ternment Camp.
H. ALTON CATES has notified us that
he wishes his AGGIE sent to 97 Aque-
duct, Akron, Ohio. .
LT. I. B. DISMUKES is located at
the Charlotte Quartermaster Depot, Char-
lotte, N. C.
LT. JACK DORAN is a pilot in the
U. S. Air Forces and his address is
in care of the Y.M.C.A. at Schenectady,

LT. BILL DUNCAN, son of M. S.
DUNCAN, ’15, of Henrietta, is Aide
to Brig. Gen. Hays at Camp McCoy,
Wisconsin. Duncan is a former football

Worth Quartermaster Depot as represen-

sification. He was an officer and an active
member of the National Capital A. & M.
