E. N. Holmgreen, ’22 E. N. “Skinnie” Holmgreen, 22, of the A. & M. Extension Service, has been made administrative of- ficer in charge of the Agricultural Conservation Program of the AAA in Texas, according to an announce- ment recently made by Jack Shel- James A. ton, ’17, vice director and state agent of the Extension Service. A. L. Smith, ’17, who was head of the AAA for the past two years, has returned to his regular post as animal husbandry specialist of the Extension Service. Included in his Scofield, ’12 work will be particular attention to the administration of the range conservation part of the Agricul- tural Conservation Program. B. F. Vance, formerly district ag- ent for the Extension Service in Northwest Texas, has been made assistant administrative officer in B. F. Vance charge of the AAA work. James A. “Beef” Scofield, ’12, will replace Vance as district agent. All of these men are veteran extension workers and have played a big part in the development of the federal agri- cultural program for the past sev- eral years. Since graduation in 1909, A. A. Riley has been with the T. & N. O. Railway, 916 S. P. Building, Hous- ton. At present Riley is supervisor of structures. William C. Rogers, 29, is toll engineer for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, Houston. He has been with this company for the past 8 years. His home address is 6025 Tyne. Edward M. “Buck” Schiwetz, ’20, is with Franke, Wilkerson, & Schiwetz, Inc., advertizing firm of Houston, located at 704 Cotton ~ Exchange Building, Houston. As a cadet at A. & M., “Buck” was art editor for the Longhorn and a member of the Ross Volunteers. “Buck” is married and has one child and his home address is 1010 Hyde Park Boulevard, Houston. He is one of the best known artists in the Southwest. Floyd L. “Deke” Scott, 24, is in the Engineering Department of the Hughes Tool Company, Hous- ton. Scott has been with this com- pany for the past 20 years. His’ home address is 1741 Kipling St. Alton L. Carnes, 25, has been a draftsman with the T. & N. O. Railway for the past 12 years and is located at 925 S. P. Building, Houston. His residence address is 814 Courtland, Houston. J. G. Glenney, 35, who has been with the Empire Oil and Refining Company at Seminole, Oklahoma, has been sent to Madison, Kansas where he gets his mail at Box 487. Glenney states that everything is going fine with the exception of the weather but they had too much snow and cold weather for him. Glenney recently ran across Coxey Evans, ’19, who is with the same company and located at Oil Hill, Kansas. Cyrus L. “Cy” Edwards, ’25, is owner of the Fannin Storage Com- pany, 1017 Fannin, Houston. His home address is 2352 Wroxton Road. “Cy” was chief yell leader of the College in 1924-25. Fred “Red” Eeds, ’32, is erecting engineer for the York Ice Machin- ery Corporation, 2201-11 Texas Avenue, Houston. His home address is 4711 Polk Avenue. - Glen A. Egan, ’11, is active vice president of the First Texas joint Stock Land Bank, 1312 Second National Bank Building, Houston. His home address is 5304 Jackson, of that city. For the past 18 years, Ernest R. Eiland, ’15, has been with the Fed- eral Land Bank of Houston. At the present time he is assistant treas- urer and manager of the Land De- partment. Halbouty, 31, is chief geologist and petroleum engineer for the Glenn H. McCarthy, Inc. Houston. Mike has made an out- standing record in his field and has been the author of several geo- logical articles on Texas geology, which have been published in the leading geological magazines of the United States, As a cadet at A. & M., Mike was active in all student affairs and editor-in-chief of the Longhorn in 1930. He is married and is living at 1635 Haw- thorne, Houston. Oscar C. “Skinnie” Hallmark, 27, is in the Sales Department of the Mosher Steel Company, 3910 Washington, Houston. John A. Herrington, ’18, is with the Hughes Tool Company, 317 Hughes Street, Houston, Texas. His residence address is 211 Telephone Road. Irving T. “It” Hockaday, ’16, is a sales engineer for the General Electric Company, Houston. Hock- aday has been with the same com- pany for the past 19 years. His home address is 1900 Lauderdale. Mr. Hockaday holds the distinct honor of being a winner of the Charles A. Coffin award. Carroll K. “Hoff” Hoffmeister, ’36, is assistant chemist for the Missouri Pacific Lines, 311 Union Depot Building, Houston. His res- idence address is 2528 Driscoll. Carter, 33, was recently transferred to Co. 4409, SCS-4, Farmerville, Louisiana. He would like to get in touch with any other A. & M. men who might be in that section. J. B. Bell, 27, who is with the Southwestern Bell Telephone Com- pany at Austin, was guest speaker at a recent special student night program at the College Baptist Church near the campus. A student leader in church work during his cadet days, Bell delivered a very interesting message to the stu- dents who heard him. B. W. Karstetter, ’32, recently moved from Bellevue to Vallentine, Texas. The recent naming of the young son of Governor and Mrs. James V. Allred, Sam Houston Allred, brings forth a coincidence that a former member of the legislature already carries this identical name. He was Sam Houston Allred, Jr., x Agr. ’23, who is an attorney at Hills- boro, who was serving in the legis- lature a few years ago. Horace E. Belsher, ’27, is an ar- chitect for the Tellepsen Construc- tion Company, Houston. His home address is 4402 Fulton of that city. Herbert W. “Beef” Beutel, ’26, is in the Operating Department of the Mosher Steel Company, Hous- ton. Beutel has been with the Mosher Steel Company for the past 11 years. Arthur M. “Ottie” Chase, Jr., 28, was recently promoted from chief draftsman to sales engineer of the York Ice Machinery Cor- poration, 2201 Texas Avenue, Hous- ton, Texas. A recent campus visitor was Freddie Buford, ’31, who has re- cently opened an office at Abilene, where he is practicing architec- ture. He is a former yell leader at A. & M. and reports that he is doing nicely. David D. “Dave” Bruton, ’13, is an oil operator in Houston, with offices at 1512 Second National Bank Building. Bruton has been in the oil business for over 18 years. During his cadet days, Bruton was a letterman in baseball in 1912 and 1913. \ Rudolph C. “Buck” Buchanan, ’30, is a petroleum engineer for the Humble Oil and Refining Com- pany, Humble Building, Houston. Alvin C. “Sticks” Canuteson, 35, Y has recently accepted a position in the Engineering Department of the Parkersburg Rig and Reel Com- pany, Houston.
