At present the records of the head- quarters of the Association of For- mer Students of the A. M. College, account for not more than 4,000 of the 15,000 former students of the College with correct addresses. That number must be increased by several thousand before the directory is pub- lished in May. These names can be secured only by the absolute coopera- tion of every former student. If our records do not show you correctly with reference to occupa- tion or address please communicate with the office at once giving the cor- rect information. If you know A. & M. men whom you have reason to believe are not listed correctly with the Association of Former Students send in their name. We want it to be so that when a former student goes into any town where there are A. & M. men he will be able to look at his directory and see just where every man who has attended this in- stitution, lives and what he does. It will help you, will it not? You help it by sending in those names. —— pr ————— THE RETURN OF ROTHGEB. Former students of A. M. every- where, have been delighted to see that Claud Rothgeb, up until two years ago assistant coach at A. & M. will return for five years and, more it is hoped, to Aggieland to assist D. X., in directing the affairs ath- letic at the College. Possessed of a delightful person- ality, a fine upstanding man, and a well balanced coach of long and splendid experience Rothgeb has made and will make a splendid con- tribution to both the success and sportsmanship of Aggie teams. With D. X., Rothgeb, Anderson, House, and Pierce, on the job next fall things ought to hum in Aggie- land. Welcome home Rothgeb, you never have quite sensed the warmth of af- fection held for you by all A. & M. Bl Nl ttt —_— EDUCATIONAL SURVEY. The College has been visited by many groups of distinguished educa- tors these last few weeks, the men who are making the educational sur- vey for Texas. College educators of long and varied experience these men , are making a very careful study of the educational system and of the needs of the various inst tutions. Their report will be the result of their best thinking in terms of Texas’ educational needs If out of their study and efforts a well ordered system of education, beginning with the public schools and going on through the institutions of higher learning results the bill providing for the survey will have been indeed a wise piece of lugisla- tion. Fort Worth is “The City Where the Panther Laid Down’ but no Ag- gie eve ‘lays down on the job” and for that reosan we know that after the April 21 meeting that the Tar- rant county A. & M. gang will be meeting regularly, pretty likely to be meeting weekly. With Alf Luckett, Charlie Fleming, M. J. Miller, Fan- nie Coleman, Ned Van Zandt, T. B. Hoffer, and that raft of other good fellows they can not fail to ke=p ahead of the crowd. —— ef —ee J. C. Williams is another Aggie who is located in Mississippi. Wil- liams ‘is an Ex-'21 man. He is with the Government. Address 3rd Miss- issippi River District, Vicksburg, Miss., P. O. Box 404. T. W. Ragsdale is out there too. M. D. McRimmon also is with this service being located at the same address. Williams says that he wants The Aggie. Note Plan of Financing Association Meeting With Wonderful Response More Funds Needed for Student Loans 609 Ex-Aggies Sign Pledges for Total of $58,527.50 Covering Five-Year Period of Time.— Amount to be Increased to $75,000.00 by Commencement Says When the officers for 1923-24 make their final report at the annual meeting at commencement time it is highly probable that they will show a total of more than $75,000 pledged in negotiable notes for the adequate maintenance of the Association and the creation of a student loan fund over a period of five years. The rec- ords at headquarters of the Associa- tion now show a total of $58,627.50 pledged. This amount has been sub- scribed by 602 men. That is an av- erage of 97.40 per capita for those signing notes. Many of the notes are for $5 per year being made by recent graduates of the College. The two highest con- tributions are those made by R. J. Windrow of Dallas and Bill Stripling of Fort Worth, both of whom are giving $200.00 per year of a total of $1,000.00, for the five year pericd of time. A surplus of several thousand dol- lars will be needed in September if the Association is to even touch the responsibility it is seeking to shoulder in the way of providing help for worthy students through student loans. The surface scarcely has been touched and every few days some in- terested Aggie writes in to find about that note plan of which he has seen and heard but which has not been presented to him as yet. President Church is planning a whirl wind fin- ish to his administration this year in order that the figures may mount. After the needs of the office are pro vided the surplus funds will be in vested in students’ lives. . District chairmen, county -chair- men, and other leaders are making their plans now to the end that every A. & M. man shall have the oppor- tunity of making a contribution to this purpose. Not more than a half dozen men have failed to take advantage of the opportunity to make a contribution through this medium. Below is given a list of those who thus far have signed notes. The making of a note includes membe:- ship in The Association and makes unecessary the payment of further dues for the period covered by the note.
