MEMORANDUM NO. 81
{Return of Government Property to Military
Custodian
1. The following Government property
"in the hands of individual cadets will be
turned in at the Armory as follows:
A. Whistles—To be turned in at the
© Armory, prior to 5:00 PM, May 27, 1938,
by the cadets who drew them.
B. Sabers—To be turned in at the Com-
mandant’ s Office immediately following the
' Final Review by the cadets who drew them.
C. Spurs—The supply sergeant of each,
organization that drew spurs will cause
. the spurs to be tagged with the cadets
name who drew them and will turn them
in in bulk, at the Armory, prior to 5:00
PM, May 26, 1938.
: D. ‘Rifles, Cleaning Rods, Guidons, Locks,
. and Keys.
(1) Immediately following the final re-
view, units armed with the rifle will be
marched to their gun rooms and will there
turn in their rifles and guidons. Rifles
will be cleaned and metal parts covered
by a light coating of oil. These units will
then comply with the provisions of para-
graph 1 F, this memorandum. Each supply
_ sergeant of organizations armed with the
~ rifle will remain at the arms room until
all rifles, cleaning rods, guidons, locks
EY and keys have been checked by the unit
Tactical Officer. Tactical Officers will then
lock the arms rooms and turn the keys
- over to the Military Property Storelieeper
at ‘the Armory.
(2) Guidons of units not armed with ‘the
rifle will be turned in at the armory by
the supply sergeants concerned immediate-
ly following the final review.

instruments will be turned in as issued,
hat is complete with lyres, mouth’ pieces,
and carrying straps. The Band' will then
be marched to its dormitory and will com-
ply with the provisions of paragraph 1 F
of this memorandum.
F. Articles of Government Uniform.
(1) Immediately following the Final
Review, all organizations_except the band
(See paragraph 1 E) will be marched di-
rectly to their company parades. (Units
armed with the rifle will comply with the
provisions of paragraph 1 D, this memo-
randum and will then conform to the fol-
lowing). All basic students who have ar-
ticles of Government uniform in their
possession will be directed to fall out,
change clothes, and report back to for-
matign 15 minutes later to turn in their
artieles of Government uniform.
(2) Organizations will then be marched
to the Exchange Store by the First Ser-
geants, reporting as follows:
West Door of Exchange Store—Engineer
Regiment, Infantry Regiment, Infantry
Band. | rt
Bast Door of BExchange Store—Signal
Corps Battalion, Cavalry Regiment, Chem-
ical Warfare Battalion.
North (Main) Door of Exchange Store
— Field Artillery Regiment, Coast Artil-
lery Regiment, Artillery Band.
Each First Sergeant will remain with
his organization until the turn in for that
organization has been completed.
(3) Payment for lost articles of the
uniform will be made by the cadets con-
cerned at the laundry station just east of
the Exchange Store, prior to turning in
articles of the uniform at the Exchange
Store. A receipt showing payment for lost
articles of the uniform will be necessary
before clearance from the College will be
given.
(4) Receipts for articles of the uniform,
not drawn, must be presented by each cadet
concerned at the Exchange Store when he
turns in those articles drawn.
(5) Cadets who have had their trousers
pieced at the bottom to increase the width,
will have the pieces removed prior to
turning them in, and the trousers will be
properly sewed in the same manner as
when they were issued. A charge of 25
cents will be made against each cadet
concerned who fails to have this repair
work done before his trousers are turged
in.
(6) Below is a list of articles of the uni-

Shirts : $4.38
Tie: $0.30
20 All cadets who have Government pro-
perty in their possession are cautioned to
comply strictly with the provisions of this
memorandum. Cadets who fail to turn in
Government property with which they are
charged or who fail to make payment for
lost articles will not be allowed to enroll
in the College next term and are also sub-
ject to prosecution by Federal authorities.
