D. shirt, breeches (slacks permitted for cadet officers), black tie, web belt, service hat with cord, and proper footgear. For instruction or other work where soiling of the uniform is involved, coveralls, unionalls, or two piece overalls with the service hat should be worn. Attention is invited to the great economy to the student when proper use of work clothes is made. Work clothes when properly worn, clean and neat, do not detract from the high standard maintained by the Corps. When dirty, torn, and worn only in part, they do detract from the ap- pearance of the Corps. Any improper wearing of the uniform is worse than not wear- ing the uniform at all.
