J. Rothgeb. the candidates had been doing pre- liminary training but the entire group went into the real grind on Monday. Among the men out are ten letter men from last year’s squad who are eligible again this year, and there are about the same number who were on the squad last year but did not let- ter. In addition there are about 15 recruits from last year’s freshman squad. There are two veteran pitch- ers back for duty, Hillin and Koerth. In addition to these two letter men there are Bryant, Meadors, Royder, Crawford, Bauknight, who are work- ing hard, all of whom are pitchers of experience; and: Mount, Wyman and Broiles, freshmen last year. Brasel- ton, Durst "and Schuneman are each out for the catcher’s position. In the infield there is a letterman for every position. Steineker is out for initial sack, Tucker will try for second at the close of the basketball season, and crawford may be shifted to that place if needed.
