Consolidated First In Interscholastic Meet Is First In Athletic Events and Ties For First in Literary The A. and M. Consolidated School will have several entries in the lit- erary and athletic contests at the dis- trict interscholastic meet which will be held at the College in April, by having won first places in several events. The first place winners in the liter- ary division who will enter the dis- trict meet and the division in which they won are as follows: Senior high school declamation, Es- telle Meyers; junior girl high school declamation, Bertha Humbert; junior boy declamation, William Matthews; extemporaneous speaking, Catherine Mitchell; junior spelling, Marquez Ehlinger. Consolidated lost only one first place in the declamation con- tests, first place going to the senior boy division of Millican. Bryan won first place in debates. Consolidated had no debating team entry. Consolidated tied with Millican for first place in total score in the liter- ary events, both schools scoring 67 1-2 points. Steep Hollow 15, Harvey 20, and Smetana 5. In the athletic meet Consolidated won the meet by the score of 164 points as compared to Kurten’s 47, her nearest competitor for first honors. Millican was third with 13 points, Steep Hollow 10, and Tabor 5. Rupert Barron and Allan Kraft of Consolidated tied for first for high point man in the athletic events, each with a total of 16 1-4 points. Second place was won by Erwin Lawless of Kurten with 15 points. The all-around county champion- ship in the high school division goes to Consolidated and in the rural div- ision to Steep Hollow.
