BAND IS COMMENDED
BY BAYLOR COLLEGE
Baylor Girls Better Pleased with Late
Concert of Aggies Than
Ever Before.
“Taken as a whole the A. & M.
Band presented one of the best pro-
grams of its kind which has ever
been given in Baylor College. Much
credit is due to the new director, Rich-
ard J. Dunn, who had perfect con-
trol of the organization during the
entire program.” This was the ver-
dict of Baylor College as given auth-
oritative utterance in the “Baylor Col-
lege Bells” following the visit of the
Band to the College a few days age
“The concert given in Alma Reeves
Chapel was interesting in its variety
of numbers which consisted of march-
es, overtures, classical and semi-clas-
sical pieces. The band was presented
by the Royal Academia Literary So-
ciety. The first number, “Washing-
ton Grays’ March” was well received
by the audience. It was played with
much volume, “The Patrol of the
Texas Aggies” was the best received
of the entire program. The audi-
ence rose when the Aggie war song
was played with much feeling. The
trombone solo of “Eliza” had to be
repeated before the applause ceased.
A selection from “Martha” was one
of the most faultlessly played num-
bers which an Aggie Band has ever
given in Baylor Cellege. The banjo-
ist was the outstanding feature of
the orchestra.
