BE SELECTED HERE
Committee Will Meet At College De-
cember 13; President Bizzell
Is Chairman.
The Texas committee on selection
for the Rhodes scholarships will meet
at the A. & M. College of Texas Sat-
urday, December 13, to select the
Texan who will receive the scholar-
ship to Oxford next year. This an-
nouncement was made yesterday by
President W. B. Bizzell, chairman of
the committee.
A number of applicants for the
scholarship available this year who
have submitted credentials will ap-
pear before the committee for per-
sonal examination.
The date for the meeting of this
committee and committees of other
states which will select a scholar this
year was set by Dr. Frank Aydelotte
of Swarthmore College who is also
responsible for the appointment of
the state committees on selections.
The membership of the Texas com-
mittee is as follows: Dr. W. B. Biz-
zell, College Station, chairman; Pro-
fessor H. Trantham, Baylor Univer-
sity, Waco, secretary; Professor C. F.
Zeek, Southern Methodist University,
Dallas; C. S. Gentry, attorney, Hous-
ton; E. P. Woodruff, attorney, Brown-
wood.

Subject Men’s Class
At the regular meeting of the
Men’s Bible class on Sunday morn-
ing, Mr. E. K. Spahr will discuss Con-
freianism. All members of the Col-
lege, Experiment Station ard Exten-
sion Service staffs, includirg women,
are cordially invited to join or visit
this class, and to participate in its
discussions.

publication of the Association of For-
mer Students of the College to some
student.
More than that ten dollars an hour
is offered to some other student.
Here is the proposition:
THE AGGIE, through its publish-
er, Colonel Ike Ashburn, office, As-|
sociation of Former Students, third
floor C. E. building, will give a purse
of $25 to the student who writes and
secures the publication of the best
article dealing with the A. & M. Col-
lege, giving it favorable publicity in
his home town paper.
To the student who writes and se-
cures the publication of the next best
story a purse of ten dollars will he
given.
The only terms to be prescribed
are as follows: Submit a copy of the
article as written and a newspaper
clipping as it is published, giving the
date of publication, name of the pa-
per and campus address of the writ-
er. :
The article should deal with the or-
ganization of the College in its ‘hree-
fold functions; physical plan: and
equipment, usefulness of the institu-
tion to the state; democracy of th
Cadet corps, fact that the College is a
poor boy’s school and especially the
needs of the College with particular
refererce to increased dormitory and
mess hall facilites and an adequate
library.
The coniest will close February 1,
1925.

There wll be a meeting of the Che-
mical Ergineering Club this evenirg
at 7:00 o’clock in the lecture room
of the Chemistry building. A short

COLLEGE WOMEN TO
HOLD MEETING TODAY
College Women’s Social Club Will
Have Sewing Party with Entertain-
ment in Y. M. C. A. Parlors
The College Women’s Social Club
will meet in regular session this af-
ternoon at 3 o’clock in the parlors
of the Y. M. C. A. building. Every
woman whose family is connected
with the College in any capacity is
a member of the Club through this
connection and is invited to attend
this meeting. It is hoped to have all
those who reside in Bryan as well as
in College present at this time. All
are requested to bring a job of sew-
ing in order that
Talking may be varied with stitch-
ing, :
And idle pleasure mixed with pro-
fitable endeavor.
The dues of the membership are
fifty cents a year and it is the cus-
tom to make payment at this meet-
ing. It has been asked by the chair-
man of the finance committee that
this custom be observed today.
Entertainment will be given under
the direction of Mrs. B. Youngblood
and Mrs. Mark Francis, chairman for
the women of the Experimert Sta-
tion and the School of Veterinary
Medicine who will be hostesses of
the afternoon.
Lecture On Gasoline
11:00 This Morning
The thirteenth lecture of the course
being given at the College by the
Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Assoc a-
tion will be delivered this morning at
11:00 o’clock in the Physics lecture
room by Fred E. Hosmer, supervisirg
cneineer of the Gulf Production Com-
pany of Shreveport, Louisiana. His
subject will) be: “The Manufacture
of Casinghead or Natural Gasoline.”
Everyone interested invited to atlend.
Through an error this lecture was
announced for yesterday morning.
