A Lj (4 since. . The Daily Bulletin VOL. VIII COLLEGE STATION, TEXAS, SUNDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1924. NO. 23 DATE OF RODEO AND PAGEANT IS NOV. 10 Sixth Annual Benefit Performance For Judging Team Will Be More Thrilling Than Ever. The annual Rodeo, livestock exposi- tion and style pageant, benefit per- formance for the International live- stock judging team will be held on November 10. This date was selected by the committee on arrangements this week after the many factors con- cerning the date of the annual show had been carefully considered. This will be the sixth annual exhibition of the kind, all of which have had th: chief purpose of providing the ex- penses of sending the livestock judg- ing team coached by Professor W. L. Stangel to compete against teams rep- resenting other schools from all parts of the United States and Canada in the judging contest of the Interna- tional Exposition and Livestock Show at Chicago which is always held th: first of December. That was the ori- ginal purpose of the performance and has remained so exclusively ever Everyone who purchases a t.c- ket may know that every dollar of profit from the exhibition will go to ‘hat worthy purpose. Initially there was no rodeo given in connection, but it consisted essen- tially of a livestock show. Gradually the rodeo feature became the most s'gnificant division and lately th: style pageant has become a predomi- nant part of each show. Contract is now being negotiated with the same man who furnished the bronchos and wild steers last year to provide the animals for this year’s rodeo. There was sufficient thrill giv- en in the taming of the unbroken brutes last year to satisfy the most enthusiastic devotee of the rodeo grandstand and it is known that this man’s string of wild ones is as good this year as last. Plans are underway to make the style pageant a much more elaborate event than in past seasons. It is planned to have a queen with a court of duchesses representing all the neighboring communities.
