WORLD RECORD IN RIFLE FIRING SET BY A. & M. MAN IN REGULAR ARMY Captain C. M. “Speck” Easley, U. S. A, ’16, has broken the world’s record in rifle shooting. During his cadet days he was a “bug” on rifle shooting. Here is a story with reference to | his achievement. The world’s rifle record has been recently brcken by Capt. Claudius M. Easley of the Thirty-First Infantry, United States army, who was reared | in Waco and is row stationed in the Philippin-. islands. The score was 343 out of a possi- ble 350, the old record being 341. Captain Easley’s scores were: 200 yards, slow fire, 48; 200 yards, rapid fire, 60; 300 yards, slow fire, 47; 300 | yards, rapid fire, 50; 500 yards, slow | fire, 50; 500 yards, rarid fire, 50: 600 yards. slow fire, 48. The 300-yard slow fire score was | shit in the rain w'th a 15-mil> wind, which explains the fact that he drop- . ped more points there than at any ther range. Capt. C. M.
