UNION REVIVAL WILL
BE HELD THIS WEEK
Reverend Earnest Thacker Will
Speak in Assembly Hall Each
Evening at 6:30 Until Fri.
Reverend Earnest Thacker will di-
vide his time between Bryan and
College to give a series of revival
services on the Campus this week
concomitant with his sermons in
Bryan. His first will be given to-
morrow evening at 6:30 in the As-
sembly hall and will conclude at
7:30 promptly, and others will fol-
low at the same hour and place each
evening through Friday.
The engagement of Reverend
Thacker to conduct the services on
the Campus was the culmination of
an effort of the local pastors’ asso-
ciation begun several months ago to
have a series of revival sermons on
the Campus during this month. Un-
til a few days ago it was thought
Dr. Arthur D. Moore of San An-
tonio would be the speaker but later
developments changed the plan. Rev-
erend Thacker was invited to hold
the services on his arrival in Bryan
vesterday afternoon and accepted. It
is hoped that he will be able to se-
cure the assistance of his pianist and
vocal leader, Mr. and Mrs. Roddy
who will assist him in Bryan but this
was not definitely determined yes-
terday.
Reverend Thacker’s home is in
Norfolk, Virginia. He has preached
in Texas and is well known for his
strength of conviction. He recently
ccnducted a revival
and in January of this year held re-
vivals in Waco and Temple.
