SENIOR CLASS PLAY DISCLOSES TALENT Approbation of Audience Places Per- | formance in Leading Place of Such Events | { Surpassing in many ways any EE vious dramatic performance by local | talent the senior class play presented | in Guion Hall Saturday night was en- | joyed by a large audience of College | and Bryan people and visitors. Their | pleased acceptance of the play was evident in vociferous acclaim, waves | of laughter and other forms of vocal ! approval. In the vernacular of a | city dramatic editor it was a “hit? | and was therefore entitled to a long | run. The plot was of the simple, humor- ous sort excellently suited for non- professional actors and it was carried out with dispatch by the cast. In light of their training and experience on the legitimate stage all the actors were stars. They had poise, self po- session and expression. In point of costunie and acting B. E. Tobin, as a crook in the guise of a detective and Ruth Lawler as the maid were partic- ularly worthy of mention. They had | that unmitigated assertion which is so necessary for an actor to impress an audience, and that appreciation of the part which enabled them to lose their individuality and project their personality into the characters which they were to portray.
