i I DALLAS
"FOR ISK GAME
Birst Trip to Noth Texas, since 1 > Mem-
orable Centre Game
The Asgies Jot aa at noon
for Dallas where they will meet the
Tulsa University eleven at the Dallas
Fair Stadium this afternoon. This is
their first trip to Dallas since their
memorable defeat of the Centre Col-
lege squad. To say that they expect
this trip to Dallas to mean a more
glorious start of their football sea-
son than the Centre victory was glox-
ious as a conclusion to a most suec-
cessful gridiron career would not be
compatable with the conservative ex-
pressions of the Aggie coach.
But it is well to remark at this
time that all those who may think
that a shadow of gloom has been cast
| over ‘Aggieland by the defeat put ov-
er on the Aggies last week by Arnold
Kirkpatrick's team from Brownwood
are extremely wrong. The spirit of
| the Aggies was never better. With
Inf.
the biggest cadet corps, in the history
of the institution everything is being
“worked to create the strongest senti-
ment for a successful season that has
ever existed. and there 1s nothing ‘but
optimism, The feeling left here after
‘the defeat by Howard Payne was
simply one of congratulation for ‘the
| winner.
But this feeling was quickly:
overcome by. the determination “to
wipe out the defeat in the next con-
Defeats can come Tron very mall
circumstances sometimes the same as
| victories, and that was the case in
the game with Howard Payne. The
defeat was the story of two backfield
men going to sleep after forgetting
‘that, they sere up against a real ma-
jor contender” and letting the oppo-
sition. pub over two aerial plays.
Bible will use a stronger aggrega-
tion of players at Dallas throughout
the game than he had on the field at
College Station when Howard Payne
that
of ‘the maroon and white becomes
sufficient to make a complete substi-
tution of second string men safe.
