DEMONSTRATION TO
BE GIVEN FRIDAY
Mrs. Barnes will Show How to
Make Dress Form
For $1.15
: On Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock Mrs |
ora R. Barnes, clothing specialist of the
Extension Service, will give a demonstra -
tion of the construction of a dress form at
a total cost of only $1.15. Every detail of
the construction will be explained.
A number of the campus ladies have ex-
pressed a desire to see this demonstration,
and all are urged to be present promptly
at 2:30 Friday afternoon. The demonstra-
tion will be given in the conference room
of the Extension Bldg.
PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCED
IN MILITARY DEPARTMENT
By appointment of President Bizzell on
recommendation of Captain C. D. Horne,
Sergeant Gale, formerly 1st sergeant of the
Field Artilery detachment and Sergeant
Griffin formerly 1st sergeant of the Cavalry
detachment have been promoted to be
warrant officers.
- Both officers are military men of long
standing, having held the rank of captain
during the war. They are now instructors
in the military department and for the
present will continue their duties here.
BATTALION FOOTBALL
WILL START THURSDAY
The Battalion football league will open
its schedule Thursday by playing the three
games which were scheduled to be played
Dec. 16 but which had to be postponed
because of the beginning of the holiday
period.
Following is the schedule for Thursday:
Cav. vs. 2rd Bn. on Varsity field.
1st Bn. vs. 2nd Bn. on Fish field.
Art. vs. S. C. on Reserve field.
All games will start at 5 o’clock, or fas
. near that time as possible.

CAVALRY TO CALIFORNIA
FORSUMMER CAMP
This office has been informed that Cav-
alry R.. O. T. C. Camps for 1921 will be
held at the usual time at the Presidio of
Monterey, California, for all cavalry units
in the 7th. 8th, and 9th Corps Areas.
A. & M. of Texas is in the 8th Corps
Area.

PENNANTS AWARDED TO
SIGNAL BATTALLION
The first of a series of pennants to
be awarded in the Signal Battalion
went to Co. A asa result of a company
competitive drill. The competition deter-
mined the relative standing of units in in-
fantry drill. Co. A took first place with a
grade of 84. Co. C took second place with
grade of 83. Co. B took third place with
grade of 72.The pennant is triangular shape
12 inches wide by 36 inches long and will
be carried on guidon stafi just below the
guidon. Another competitive drill will be
held at end of first term to determine the
company that will carry pennant through
second term.
The award was made December 16.

Basketball Season Will Get Under
Way With Games
Next week
- The basketball season opens in earnest
next week. The Aggie freshmen play
John Tarleton College on the local court
next Monday January 10. On Jan. 11,
there will be a double header, the fresh-
men concluding their two game series with
John Tarleton and the Aggies opening a
two game series with Simmons College on
the local court. :
There will be a total of twelve games
played on the local court this season, eight
varsity games and and four freshmen
games. Permanent reserved seat tickets
are now on sale at the office of the De-
partment of Athletic Training. Reserva-
tions should be made at once in order to
secure the best seats. Having good seats
for the four games with the University of
Texas and Rice Institute are alone worth
the price charged for reserved seats for the
entire season. Secure your reservations
today.
SWIMMING POOL CAN'T BE
FILLED BEFORE THURSDAY
Owing to trouble in connection with the
wells the Y swimming pool cannot be fill-
ed before Thursday. An announcement
will be made as soon as it is ready for use.
