The Guion Hall speaker this morn-
ing will be Dr. Paul V. Kern, A.M,,
B. D:, D. D., head of the Chair of
Homilitics and the English Bible,
Chaplain, and Acting Dean of the
School of Theology of Southern Meth-
odist University, Dallas. He was
educated at the old Randolph-Macon
College and at Vanderbilt University,
and has done special work at Chi-
cago, Union Seminary, and at Col-
umbia University.
He was pastor of one of the larg-
est churches in Nashville before com-
ing to Dallas, and has been with the
university since its founding. In
addition to his college duties, he is
now supply pastor for the Univer-
sity Methodist Church and has the
largest student attendance that has
ever attended this church. Perhaps
he is the most popular man on the
S. M. U. faculty. He is small in
physique but big in mind and heart.
