Sergeant Perkins is to be congrat- ulated upon the opportunity that is being extended to him, as it is rather difficult for a man to obtain such a chance. : For two years Sergeant Perkins was an instructor in West Point, but he says he has never regretted to leave any place as badly as he hates to leave A. and M. “The spirit of the boys at West Point is nothing to compare with the free wholeheatred nature of the boys here,” he said. He corroborated President Bizzell’s statement a few days ago, that this is certainly a “going concern.” “I cannot express myself too strongly with regard to the great body of ca- dets here,” he said. “I have never enjoyed anything so much in my life as I have the time 1 have spent among them. I have learned to re- spect and admire them as individ- uals, but above all as a body. Their manner of standing together and ac- complishing things through concert- ed action is nothing less than mar- | velous.” | —l eel een.
